🌟 Meet the Team Monday 🌟
Aron Cozens🎩

This Monday we are introducing someone whose dedication to our community started earlier than most! Meet Aron, our Funeral Service Operative & After Hours Support Specialist 🕊

While many people find their calling later in life, Aron knew exactly where he belonged before he even finished school, and that was here at Vale Funeral Services.

✨Here is Aron’s story, in his own words:

"After being inspired by the way the Funeral Director cared for my late grandmother, I knew I had found my calling. When my time at school came to an end and I met with a careers advisor to discuss the future, I was asked which sectors interested me...The funeral profession was the only industry I felt drawn to.

Despite being told by my advisor not to pursue it because it wasn't considered a "normal" career, I took it upon myself to seek employment in the profession anyway.
I was fortunate enough to complete work experience with Vale Funeral Service in 2017, and I have worked uninterrupted within the funeral profession across the Vale of Glamorgan and Cardiff ever since leaving school that same year.

The role I hold isn’t just a job or a 9-to-5; it is a vocation. From early on in my career, I have been dedicated to ensuring that families feel supported and treated with dignity, no matter the time of day. I describe myself as dependable and someone who goes above and beyond to assist both families and colleagues alike. I am here to support you through life's most difficult times, around the clock.

I take great pride in delivering the high standards of service we are known for, alongside the core values of our business: treating every person with dignity, compassion, and respect. I believe that supporting families should never be taken lightly, and it remains at the heart of everything we do.
Thank you, as always, for the trust you place in our care"

In this profession, it takes a special kind of person to balance perfect professionalism with genuine kindness. Whether it’s staying late to ensure every detail is perfect or offering a quiet word of support to a grieving family, Aron goes above and beyond every single day and we can't thank him enough.

Preparing a Heartfelt Farewell ✍️🤍

Writing a eulogy is one of the most meaningful—and daunting—tasks we can undertake for a loved one. It isn’t about being a perfect public speaker; it’s about sharing a genuine reflection of the person you lost.

✨️ A Gentle Reminder: There is no "right" way to write a eulogy. If it comes from the heart, it is exactly what it needs to be.

If you’ve been asked to speak and aren't sure where to begin, here are a few steps which may help you find the right words:

1. Gather the "Small" Moments
While milestones are important, the most touching eulogies often focus on the small things: a favourite catchphrase, a specific way they brewed their coffee, or their unwavering loyalty to a sports team or club. These details bring their spirit back into the room and will be relatable to those who knew and loved the person.

2. Find a Theme
Rather than a chronological timeline, try to find a central theme that defines them. Were they a font of knowledge? A quiet helper? Somebody who could fix anything? The life of every party? Let that theme guide your stories.

3. Keep it Conversational
Write the way you speak. You are among friends and family. It’s okay, and often encouraged, to include a light-hearted or humorous memory that captures their personality.

Be gentle with yourself. Your presence and your sincerity matter more than a "perfect" speech. Speak from the heart and that's all anybody needs to hear. 🕊️

If you are currently preparing for a service and need further guidance, our doors are always open. Our experienced team are here to support you in honouring your loved one’s unique story.

If you have delivered or prepared a eulogy or tribute for somebody, we would loved to here some of your tips which helped you, which you can share to help others.
