These are some of our community pharmacists from across Cardiff and Vale.

Your local community pharmacy does so much more than prescriptions.

They can give expert advice on a range of minor illnesses, and many can assess and treat common conditions such as a sore throat, UTI or minor skin infection, without needing to see a GP.

To find out what services your local community pharmacy offers, visit the Community Pharmacies page of our website.

Get seen by the right person, in the right place, first time. 💙

Eligible people who have not received their flu, COVID-19 or RSV vaccinations this winter can now access them at special walk-in clinics.

Winter viruses are now circulating in our communities and are expected to place additional pressure on NHS services, so it’s vital to get vaccinated to protect yourself and your loved ones from serious illness.

Our vaccination team will be available at the following locations from today (no appointment needed – just turn up):
• Barry Hospital, CF62 8YH (Mon-Fri, 3pm-6pm and Sat, 9am-12pm) no clinic Thurs, Dec 18
• Riverside Health Centre, CF11 9SH (Mon-Fri, 3pm-6pm)
• Maelfa Health Centre, CF23 9PN (Sat, 9am-12pm)

Vaccination is the single most effective thing we can do to stay safe this winter. Please play your part.

🎄 Plan Ahead This Christmas & New Year – Order Your Medication Early 🎄

With the Christmas and New Year bank holidays approaching, we’re reminding patients to order repeat prescriptions in plenty of time to avoid running out of essential medication.

🗓 The surgery surgeries will be closed on:
• Christmas Day
• Boxing Day
• New Year’s Day

Patients are encouraged to order repeat prescriptions at least 7 working days before they are needed. The weeks leading up to Christmas are a particularly busy time for the surgery and local pharmacies, with a much higher number of prescription requests to process. Ordering early helps us manage demand and ensures no one is left without their regular medication.

Thank you for your understanding and support. Wishing everyone a safe, healthy, and happy festive season 🎁✨

Our GP surgery is very busy during winter season. Please help us care for those who need it most by using NHS services wisely.

🌱 Many minor illnesses can be managed with self-care and advice from a local community pharmacist.

🏥 Contact the surgery for ongoing or complex health concerns, or when advised by a healthcare professional.

🛑 FLU VACCINE UPDATE 🛑

NO FLU VACCINE STOCK CURRENTLY AVAILABLE

Unfortunately, we have run out of flu vaccines at the surgery.

From 23rd December, Cardiff and Vale University Health Board will take over flu vaccinations for eligible patients. If you are eligible and have not yet been vaccinated, you will be contacted by text, even if you previously opted out of receiving the vaccine through the surgery.

💊 In the meantime you may also try contacting local community pharmacies, as some may still have limited vaccine stock available.

💡 Reminder for the future:
Please try to attend early in the flu season to avoid missing out when vaccine stock becomes limited.

Thank you for your understanding.
