Monday again already! - which means it’s time for another Meet the team Monday. This week say hello to our brilliant dispensing optician Nia, who joined the Arbuthnots family in 2017 and became a partner in 2024.
Nia has a fantastic range of colourful glasses herself, and relishes sourcing new brands that we think our patients will enjoy seeing on our shelves.
Now that her 2 children are both away at university, Nia is quite enjoying being an empty nester! To relax, she enjoys walking/hiking and running - and loves getting away in the campervan at weekends.

In the next episode of meet the team Monday, it’s the turn of Orsolya.
Having moved to the UK in 2005, Orsolya has been with Arbuthnots since 2015. A very experienced technician, Orsolya is essentially our ‘quality assurance expert’ and is responsible for ensuring that the glasses arriving in from our suppliers meet our high standards. She is also a skilled dispenser and so you might also meet Orsolya on the shop floor where she can help you choose your new glasses.
Orsolya’s favourite bit of the job is seeing exciting and beautiful new glasses coming in ready to be collected, especially when they feature stylish new frames or the more complex glasses prescriptions.
In her downtime, Orsolya enjoys reading, travelling and walking her dog.
