Meet the team Monday is here again already! This week it’s the turn of lovely Clodette, who will shortly celebrate her 10 year anniversary with Arbuthnots.
You are guaranteed a warm, friendly welcome from Clo, but she is also invaluable in helping with all those behind-the-scene tasks including handling accounting and payments.
Clo’s favourite eyewear brand that we stock is Woodys, for their fabulous colours and styles.
When not being kept busy at Arbuthnots, Clo is kept equally busy looking after her 8 year old twins (and she’s also Mum to a 19 year old - he just doesn’t need quite so much looking after these days!).

Sneaking in this week’s Meet the team Monday - and this week it’s the turn of our newest team member, Rachel. Optometrist Rachel graduated from Cardiff University in 2023 and joined us at Arbuthnots in November 2025.
Rachel has settled in brilliantly and is proving herself as a valuable team member, and has made a great impression on those patients who have seen her.
Outside of work, Rachel enjoys spending time socialising and going to the gym.
Keep an eye out for her when you’re next in Barry!

It’s Meet the team Monday again - and this week it’s time to meet our fabulously stylish dispensing optician Erin.
Having joined the Arbuthnots team in 2020, Erin completed her dispensing studies and became a fully qualified DO in 2024. Erin has a brilliant eye for what frames will suit our patients.
As well as dispensing, more recently Erin has completed her low vision training - meaning that she can carry out assessments to assist those patients with reduced vision.
Outside of work Erin enjoys spending time with her partner, family and friends - and is perfecting the art of bread making and is trying her hand at jam making too (I’m happy to taste test any time you need it Erin!).
