Not everyone’s idea of fun on a weekend 😅 but I’ve just completed my annual certification on skin cancer awareness. The key takeaway messages being - protect your skin from ultra violet rays and check out any new or changing skin lesions with your GP. Also - sunbeds do NOT help prepare your skin for a summer holiday, emitting the same UV rays as the sun, and are actually classified as Grade 1 carcinogens by the International Agency for Research on Cancer. 😳

I’ve been a member of the AoR since qualifying in Grade 5 Clinical Reflexology almost 8 years ago 😳 - Grade 5 means I’ve passed intensive training in anatomy and physiology and biopsychosocial studies and understand research based practice. The AoR are a fabulous organisation and incredibly knowledgeable and promote good practice, worth every penny of my membership fees 🙏🏻👣☺️

I’ve wanted to do this training for ages and though maybe not very Christmassy, being sofa bound with a bug has given me the time to complete it 😅🥇💪 The training doesn’t allow me to diagnose skin cancers, that’s the job of a dermatologist, but it has given me tools to recognise potentially concerning moles or freckles so I can recommend getting them checked
out. I’d recommend the MASCED training to fellow complementary healthcare professionals, and also the www.skcin.org website / app to everyone. I thought I knew a lot about skin cancers, but I’ve honestly learned so much 😊 Every day can be a school day, if you let it 🤗

Winner Chosen!! …I have a lovely small wooden essential oil box, ideal to keep your collection out of the light - important for protecting your precious oils! I’ve never actually used it as most of the bottles I use are very large (practitioner size) so don’t fit. I know a few of my clients use oils a lot and so I would like to gift this to one of you. So, this is the first Christmas for Holly Tree Holistic Therapies ...and it has been a really exciting few months. I have been very lucky to find two lovely clinic spaces to work from - Health Conscious @ The Precinct, Llantwit Major (owned by the wonderful and aptly named Joy) and Active Health Chiropractic Clinic @ Cardiff Road, Dinas Powys (owned by the lovely chiropractor, Sian).
I have treated exactly 50 new clients since starting in September, which was beyond my expectations, and was thrilled to have many of these a consequence of ‘word of mouth’. Thank you so much for telling your friends and family about your treatment experience - it really is so wonderful to hear a new client tell me this is how they found out about me !
In the New Year I will be continuing to offer Soft Tissue Massage and Reflexology treatments from my two lovely clinic bases, with sessions available each week - please message me for details.
