Our team will be taking part in essential staff training today

🕐 Practice Closure:
• The surgeries will be closed between 1.30pm - 5.30pm, unless you are attending for an emergency or pre-booked appointment
• We will be running EMERGENCIES ONLY from 8.00am

💊 Prescriptions:
• Please ensure any prescriptions are collected before 1.30pm, unless you have nominated a pharmacy

• Our phone lines will remain open for URGENT CLINICAL CALLS ONLY during this time - by calling 01446 733515

🩺For non-urgent healthcare advice and information, you can visit the NHS 111 Wales website on 111.wales.nhs.uk or attend your local pharmacy

Any patients that have received a text message advising them to make an appointment for a flu jab, we are currently having technical issues with the system, please call again tomorrow and it will be up and running as usual

With the August Bank Holiday fast approaching we would like to remind patients of the Surgery opening hours around this time.

The surgery will be closed on:
🗓️Monday 25th August

Normal surgery hours will resume on Tuesday 26th August

Please plan ahead, check your medication

With the closure for the Bank Holiday, we anticipate being very busy following this (26th August)

Please:
- check your symptoms online via https://111.wales.nhs.uk
- visit your local community pharmacy for minor illnesses, which do not require an appointment
- see https://www.gov.wales/help-us-help-you for lots of useful advice & guidance on available services
- order your repeat prescription in advance of the Easter Bank Holiday
- contact NHS 111 Wales by telephone ☎️ particularly when we are closed

📢 Important Update from the Department of Sexual Health (DOSH)

From 10th September, DOSH services will be relocating from Broad Street Clinic to Barry Hospital.

The new location will run the following clinics every Wednesday:
• 🚶‍♀️ Walk-in clinic for Depo Provera contraceptive injection
• 🧒 Dedicated under-18s clinic offering contraception, testing, treatment and advice

It's Myeloma Awareness Week. Here’s what you need to know about this type of cancer 👇

Myeloma is a type of cancer that develops from plasma cells in the bone marrow.

Symptoms can include bone pain, lots of infections or infections that don't go away, feeling thirstier than usual and feeling more tired or breathless than what's normal for you.

If you’ve noticed anything unusual for you, or any changes that haven’t gone away, talk to your doctor. In most cases, it won’t be cancer, but if it is, diagnosing it early can make a real difference.
