Missed our Saturday Flu Clinics and still need your flu vaccine?πŸ’‰

Eligible patients are still able to book their flu vaccine appointments by phoning the surgery on 01446 734131 after 10am Monday to Friday.

To be eligible for the flu vaccine you will need to be over the age of 65 or under 65 in an at-risk group. If you are 50-64 and not in a clinical risk group the Welsh Government have decided you do not qualify for a free vaccine this year. It is vitally important to be vaccinated this winter and we would encourage all our eligible patients to do so.

πŸ’‰ What to expect at our Flu Vaccine ClinicsπŸ’‰

Ahead of tomorrow's final flu clinic, here's what to expect:

😷 Patients will be greeted by a member of staff in the foyer where details will be taken and you will be booked in for your appointment. You will then join one of two queues in reception; Under 65s will go one way and over 65s will go the other way, running a one way system and exiting either side of the building. There will be clear signs to follow. Please note this is NOT a walk-in clinic, you must have an appointment in order to have the vaccine.

πŸ‘• Please wear appropriate clothing - patients should be prepared with their arms out and sleeve rolled up ready as they enter reception. Unfortunately staff will not be able to discuss any other health issues during flu clinics nor can we hand out prescriptions.

πŸ€’ Please do not attend if you are unwell or experiencing symptoms of coronavirus. If you are unwell you need to wait until you are better to have the vaccines. The phones will not be available on the weekend to cancel therefore please call the surgery on Monday to rebook.

πŸ’‰ If you are eligible for a flu vaccine and have not yet booked an appointment, please call the surgery Monday to Friday after 10am to discuss this further with a member of the reception team.

If you or someone you care for, becomes unwell and you’re not sure where to go, use NHS 111 to get the right care in the right place – including at your GP practice, pharmacy, or self-care at home.

πŸ› Injuries and illnesses such as grazed knees, sore throats and the common cold can be treated at home with self-care.

πŸ’Š Your local pharmacy can help with ailments such as insect bites, hay fever, diarrhoea and constipation. Ask your pharmacy what can be seen under the 'Common Ailments Scheme' which offers free healthcare advice and treatment.

πŸ‘©β€βš•οΈ Contact your GP surgery for symptoms such as stomach pain, a lump or blood in your urine.

πŸ“² Go online, visit the NHS Wales App or call NHS 111 for medical help or advice when you don't know where to go: https://111.wales.nhs.uk/

πŸ₯ Please only attend A&E when you have a serious injury or need emergency care. You should always call 999 or go straight to A&E in a life-threatening emergency situation.
