New Beginnings are working in collaboration and partnership with Support Them Right to deliver inclusive and fun movement classes for young adults with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), called No-Limits.

New Beginning’s welcomes young SEND adults to participate in these sessions whose needs range from autism, severe learning difficulties, special needs support, speech, language and communication needs, emotional and learning difficulties, visual impairments, and physical disabilities.

Any inclusive sport or dance is extremely important to those young adults who would otherwise not be able to participate. All young adults, regardless of whether they are able bodied, disabled, or unable to cope in a mainstream environment, deserve the opportunity to participate in dance, movement, and sport. Our No-Limits classes can be liberating for young adults who may have limited range of movement or co-ordination.

We have embraced this opportunity to bring No-Limits to everyone and have formed partnerships with Support Them Right to provide the best experience for participants…our New Beginnings team are highly trained to provide an all-inclusive dance and fitness program.

We want to offer young people with additional needs, the opportunity, and benefits of a mainstream setting, through inclusive teaching provision and support, to help bring in irregular or consistently inactive young people.

Exercise, SEND & Well Being
It has been proven that exercise and sport can improve our metal health. According to the National Autistic Society up to 40% of people with ASD or a similar spectrum condition will have an anxiety disorder as opposed to just 15% in the general population. Not only will dance and movement improve the physical health of our young adults, but it will also help their mental wellbeing.

The power of inclusive dance
Seeing young adults interacting in a safe environment and being able to take part in something they might not otherwise be able to do is our goal. To these young adults being able to take part is just as thrilling as winning a race.

Special Educational Needs & Disabilities
No-Limits classes will consist of:
• Movement and Dance
• Yoga and Wellbeing
• Fitness – circuits and boxercise style fitness
An inclusive No-Limits class for SEND participants inspired to stimulate imaginative dance, build confidence, strengthen co-ordination, and nurture a quality environment where participants can relax, make friends and be creative!

Participants will explore group and partner formations, themed movement, dance games, contact improvisation, including fun props and signage and imaginative play. We will ensure a safe and effective class to explore dance and music in a fun and upbeat atmosphere. The classes will focus on developing each person’s range of movement, expanding their skill base, and gaining self-confidence. Instructors are experienced in working with groups where verbal communication is limited.

The Yoga and Wellbeing part of the class is the perfect pause and chance to stretch and relax. An excellent way to relieve stress, recharge and learn new skills within your range of movement. Where applicable, participants will build core stability, resistance, and toning, improving posture and well-being.

We have taken into consideration the following points:
• Sensory processing issues with loud noises – music will be played at a level suitable for all
• Simple and clear instructions, with visual supports for those with learning difficulties or require that extra visual prompt to an instruction
• Depending on the age and SEN/Disability of the child or adult, classes may be split to enable better support of individual needs
• Session will take place at the New Beginnings venues where we are able to cater for car parking and access needs.
