Before your treatment
There are a few simple steps that might be advisable to take before your appointment, to make your treatment more effective. Applying 1-2 drops of olive oil or sodium bicarbonate ear drops in the affected ear/s, twice a day for at least 2 days prior to your appointment, should make the procedure more comfortable and help to achieve the best results for you. You will have a formal consultation with a healthcare professional. During this time, the procedure will be explained, and consent will be taken. The procedure
Earwax removal is a relatively straightforward procedure that typically lasts 15-30 minutes. However, it can take longer in some patients based on the type of wax and anatomical structure of the ear canal. The Ear care practitioner will then use a suction device and a state-of-the-art high-definition direct visualization otoscope to remove the earwax. Aftercare
Your ear care practitioner will explain the clinical findings and may advise accordingly. Occasionally you may require more than one session for safe removal of the ear wax. If you have any questions or concerns, we’re happy to help.
