This World Book Day, our St. Luke's Hospice Shops are helping children discover new adventures and stories by offering one free book per child.

From Monday 2nd to Saturday 7th March, pop into your local shop, let your child choose their own free book, and if they finish it they’re welcome to pop back during the week to swap it for another story.

Thanks to the generous support of people like you, we’ve been providing our community with the care and support they need for over 35 years.

After Pat received the news that she had terminal cancer, she was introduced to St. Luke's Hospice where she received care from our Clinical Outpatients service and In-Patient Unit. Her husband John reflects on the time Pat spent at the Hospice and the difference it made to her, and their family.

“Each day we are so grateful that you were the ones that helped her through those difficult days. She was never scared in your company whether that was for a day stay or overnight. You gave us the opportunity to spend what time we had with her to a level that we cannot thank you enough for. They say you are experts, they are so wrong…You are angels in disguise. We will always be forever in your debt for what you done and hope to return that support with as much fundraising as possible for you to help others.”

Meet Sandra, our Strictly St. Luke’s dancer paired with professional dancer, Graham.

“After volunteering at St. Luke’s Hospice for a short while after I retired, I have seen firsthand what a wonderful job they do, and the fantastic support and care they provided to the community.

“With all this in mind I wanted to give something back, so I signed up to take part in St. Luke’s Strictly 2026 to raise money for this amazing cause.” Sandra

Our ten dance partners are perfecting lifts, learning new moves and giving every rehearsal their all. We can't wait for you to see them sparkle on Saturday 21st March at the Brentwood centre, along with two showcase performances by our host, former Strictly Come Dancing professional, Ian Waite.
