Our wonderful Deputy Manager, Natasha went above and beyond today, surprising our residents and staff with a visit from an ice cream van on this beautifully warm summer’s day!
There were smiles all around as everyone enjoyed their favourite cool treats, perfect for beating the heat and creating special memories together. It’s the little things that make a big difference. 🥰 🌞🍦 Thank you to Molly's Lollys - Ice Cream Van for coming and visiting us. We had the best afternoon and look forward to seeing you again soon

𝑨 𝑺𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝑽𝒊𝒔𝒊𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝑹𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓
This week was filled with joy and excitement for one of our residents, John who received a very special visit from his beloved grandson all the way from America. It had been a few years since they were last together in person, making this reunion truly meaningful.
John was beaming with pride as he shared memories and photos with his grandson, reminiscing about old times while catching up on all the new milestones in their lives. It was a beautiful reminder of the power of family bonds and how distance can never truly separate loved ones.
The visit was filled with hugs, happy tears, and plenty of smiles from both. It’s moments like these that remind us how precious family connections are and how they bring joy that lingers long after the visit ❤️

We had a lovely visit from Basildon Revival Group who brought joy and entertainment to our residents. The ensemble consisted of talented dancers and vocalists, each passionate about sharing their art with others. With their vibrant costumes, infectious energy, and warm smiles, they immediately connected with our residents staff and families, creating an atmosphere filled with excitement and laughter.
Their thoughtful interaction with the residents whether it was sharing a laugh, engaging in conversation, or simply offering a kind gesture left a lasting impression on everyone. It was an afternoon filled with warmth, creativity, and connection, bringing a spark to our home 💃🎤🎶❤️

Today was a very special day at Mundy House. Cathy one of our own team members, bravely held our very first Stroke Support Club. Having experienced a stroke herself Cathy shared her personal journey of recovery the challenges she faced, and the hope that carried her through.
What made this even more moving was the way she turned her own experience into strength using it to support others. Some of our residents have also lived through strokes and Cathy created a safe understanding space where everyone could talk openly, listen, and encourage one another.
At Mundy House, we believe in walking beside our staff not only in their work but also in their personal struggles. Cathy is living proof of resilience and compassion and has already stepped into a new role becoming a Stroke Champion for our home. Her courage touched us all today, and her story reminds us that healing is not just physical it’s about finding purpose and giving hope to others 🙏❤️

As part of our staff development and training program, one of our Team Leaders Lynda Shannon, led our first Skin Care Awareness program for our employees. The program received great feedback and many positive comments were received, therefore we intend to continue providing this training to all of our employees 😊👏

Basildon Holy Cross Church Vicar Reverend Trudy blessed and residents received a Holy Communion. Mundy House continues to meet all the different spiritual beliefs and needs of our residents that still wish to practice what they believe in.

Bryan had a very special surprise visit from his sister, Mary who he hasn't seen in a while. They all had a wonderful afternoon filled with laughter in our beautiful garden and a delicious lunch.
Family don't need to be knocking on our door everyday or someone you may not see for years but you can still get together, have a nice cup of tea and put the worlds to right like you've never been apart ❤

Pauline had the honor and privilege of attending the wedding of her granddaughter, Rose, yesterday. Pauline said it was an amazing experience and a moment of great pride to be a part of her big day. Pauline and all of them looked stunning. Mundy House wishes the newlyweds a very happy and successful marriage ❤️👰‍♀🤵💒

Oh my goodness. What an adorable start to the day. Today, we got a very special visit from George who is our Team Leader, Lynda Shannon's grandson. Some of our residents got to have a hold of him and we all loved his cuddles. There's no feeling like the feeling of holding the world in your arms 🩵

At Mundy House, ‘Together We Care, Together We Can Give’ is more than just a slogan it’s our way of life. Today, our amazing care team went above and beyond their daily roles, volunteering their time to keep our home safe, clean, and beautiful.
From infection control work cleaning bins, yellow bins, and trolleys to painting and freshening up our fences, every task was done with pride, love, and teamwork.
It’s this spirit of going the extra mile that makes Mundy House not just a workplace, but a family.
