Probably the oldest regular charity quiz night in Wickford. Our regular quiz nights, held on 1st Tuesday of each month, are popular as ever, with 100% of profits donated to different charities every month. This month it's Hanningfield Sailability Club, putting disabled sailors "In Control".

** Community Pharmacies are vital and I don’t want us to lose any because the Government doesn’t realise how important they are **

Following my post last week about community pharmacies, I had the pleasure of visiting Noak Bridge Pharmacy!

They’ve been part of the community for over 35 years, serving 10,000 local people across and - handling a whopping 6,000 proscriptions every month.

Despite being a family-run business, they’re at risk of not being passed down from generation to generation for Riana to continue serving the community as her father has done due to the financial viability of the pharmacy. Tight funding has been tough but even worse is the National Insurance Jobs Tax being imposed on them, part of the ever-rising costs with no funding help to cover them.

It’s a small, fantastic team, including Charlie who was brought in from unemployment through Rishi’s Kickstarter Scheme, and it’s crucial for the local community that they are supported by government.

I’ll be calling on the Health Secretary and his team in Parliament to provide the support primary care, including pharmacies need, and to look at the beneficial economic impact that the Treasury is having on pharmacies near to people across the country.

We wanted to update you on some of the new NHS & Private services we are offering at Noak Bridge Pharmacy.
Private Services Include:
-Weight management service
-Period Delay Advice
-Help with period Pain
-Shingles Vaccine

NHS Services Include:
-Pill Checks (for ages 15-50yrs we can complete your pill check and provide you with up to 1 year supply for free)
-Smoking Cessation (a fully supported program with the use of ni****ne replacement products included for up to 12 weeks)
-Free blood pressure check (if you are over 40 years old and are not on any medications to treat high blood pressure OR if your GP advises you to have it checked in a pharmacy)
- Treatment, advice or referrals to a GP for the following conditions:
• impetigo (aged 1 year and over)
• infected insect bites (aged 1 year and over)
• earache (aged 1 to 17 years)
• sore throat (aged 5 years and over)
• sinusitis (aged 12 years and over)
• urinary tract infections (UTIs) (women aged 16 to 64 years)
• shingles (aged 18 years and over)

We, at Noak Bridge Pharmacy, hope you all have a lovely Christmas! Hopefully no one needs us, but we just wanted to let you know that we will be opening from 10am to 1pm on Christmas day. We're able to provide usual services, including Pharmacy First (see image below) and urgent medication supplies (following a 111 online referal: https://111.nhs.uk/emergency-prescription ). However, we please ask that you be patient with us, as we will be running on very limited staffing levels. Happy Holidays Everyone! 🎅🏻🎄
