Top Tips to Stay Hydrated This Summer:
Start your day with water
Before your morning tea or coffee, drink a glass of water to kickstart hydration.
Keep a bottle with you
Carry a reusable water bottle and sip regularly, even if you don’t feel thirsty.
Flavour it naturally
If plain water isn’t appealing, add slices of cucumber, lemon, lime, or mint for a refreshing twist.
Eat water-rich foods
Enjoy hydrating snacks like watermelon, cucumber, oranges, strawberries, and lettuce.
Set reminders
Use a phone app or alarms to gently remind you to drink water throughout the day.
Drink little and often
Rather than large amounts all at once, sip steadily throughout the day for better absorption.
Watch for signs of dehydration
Dry mouth, headaches, tiredness, and dark urine are common signs - if you notice them, drink up.
Adjust with activity & heat
If you’re exercising or it’s particularly hot, increase your fluid intake to match

Vitamin D is often called the “sunshine vitamin” because our bodies produce it when exposed to sunlight. But why is it so important - especially for women?

Key Functions of Vitamin D:
Supports strong bones by helping your body absorb calcium, reducing the risk of osteoporosis.
Boosts immune system function, helping to fight infections.
Plays a role in muscle strength and mood regulation.

Why Women Need Vitamin D:
Women are more prone to bone density loss as they age, particularly after menopause. Ensuring you get enough Vitamin D helps maintain bone health and overall wellbeing.

Getting Enough Vitamin D:
Aim for 10–15 minutes of sunlight on your skin daily, but balance this with protecting your skin from sun damage. You can also get Vitamin D from foods like oily fish, eggs, and fortified products, or supplements if needed.

You can find further information about daily vitamin D requirements online at: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/vitamins-and-minerals/vitamin-d/
