We’re excited to be working with other local Minds across Essex in 2026 and beyond, through the Mind in Essex partnership. We are working alongside Mind in West Essex, Basildon Mind, South East and Central Essex Mind, and Thurrock and Brentwood Mind, strengthening the support available across the county 💙

And there’s more to come… Mind in Essex will be announcing a new partnership with an Essex-wide organisation very soon. Keep an eye on our socials and our January newsletter for the news 👀

Why Gardening Is Good for Our Wellbeing

🍀 Helps reduce stress and ease anxiety
🍀 Boosts mood and emotional wellbeing
🍀 Encourages mindfulness and being present

At Basildon Mind, we have an allotment in Vange, Basildon, and we’d love to welcome anyone interested in gardening.
We’re there every Tuesday from 9am–1pm and every second Saturday of the month from 9am–1pm.

Come and join us, get your hands in the soil, and enjoy some fresh air.

- Weeding & general plot maintenance
- Harvesting fresh veggies & herbs
- Watering & caring for plants
- Composting & soil care
- Learning sustainable gardening tips

Whether you’re an experienced gardener or just curious to try something new, there’s a place for you here. Any help is welcome!

Join Our Weekly Free Wellbeing Walking Groups

Take a step towards better mental health and wellbeing. Our weekly walks are a friendly and relaxed way to enjoy nature, boost your mood, and connect with others in your community. Guided by an experienced Walking Leader and supported by a qualified Therapist, each walk offers a safe, welcoming space to unwind, share, and feel supported. Walking regularly can reduce stress, lift your spirits, and help improve your mental and physical health — all while enjoying gentle movement in the fresh air.

We Are Hiring ! – Counselling Manager (Job-Share)

We are recruiting a Counselling Manager on a job-share basis to jointly lead the development and expansion of our counselling service. This senior management role requires an experienced, accredited practitioner (BACP, UKCP or BPC) with expertise in Integrative Counselling, people and service management, and organisational working. The role is primarily management-focused, with a small caseload of complex clients, and includes mentoring trainees and providing counsellor supervision.

From all of us at Basildon Mind, we wish you a Christmas filled with warmth, kindness, and moments of Joy. Thank you to everyone who has supported, fundraised, or helped us in 2025—you’ve made a real difference. We look forward to continuing to support our local community’s mental health in 2026.

If you need mental health support over the Christmas period, please visit our social media pages for details on our opening times and information about other services available to support your wellbeing during the holidays.

From Wednesday, 24th December to Monday, 4th January, social media messages will not be monitored during this time. Messages will be attended to after 5th January.
