🛋️ A Humanist at the Freud Museum London...
I don’t always agree with Freud (ok, I often don’t 😅), but I do respect him. He was, after all, a founder — and standing in the space where psychoanalysis was born carries its own kind of weight.
This weekend I visited the Freud Museum in London. As a humanistic practitioner, much of Freud’s theory doesn't align with my person-centred values — but being there reminded me how important it is to honour the roots of our profession, even as we grow in different directions.
🃏 Bonus: I picked up some new therapy cards in the gift shop that I definitely plan to use in a creative, client-led way!
💙 Even more special was sharing the day with my son, who’s currently completing his counselling training. Felt a little like Sigmund & Anna — keeping it in the family (minus the couch and the cigar 😉).
