Childhood In Essex

The world in which children and young people are growing up today has significantly transformed compared to that of previous generations.

Essex County Council have been working with children, young people, parents and professionals to find out what Childhood looks like in Essex.

The 10-minute video below identifies key finding from the Childhood Essex research, through the voice of children, young people, parents and professionals. This video shares what young people excel at, the pressures they face, their hopes for the future, and how childhood has changed across generations.

However, their key finding was the importance of listening and involving children and young people, when making decisions affecting their lives and future.
