Basildon Clinic of Osteopathy

Basildon Clinic of Osteopathy Graeme Stroud ND, MRN, DO, ACOH is an osteopath, naturopath, certified zen body therapist and a qualified healer.

I qualified as an osteopath and naturopath in 1985 and began working in the Basildon area where I still practice at my own clinic, the Basildon Clinic of Osteopathy. I am also a qualified Zen Bodytherapist, Assemblage Point Therapist, Electronic Gem Therapist (dielectric resonance) and a holistic healer. I also trained over a number of years in Body Electronics Therapy, and other trainings in Reflexology, Ortho-Bionomy, Flower Essence Therapy, and Cranial Osteopathy. When I first qualified as an osteopath, I soon found that for me, the approach that worked best was one of deep tissue bodywork and osteopathic manipulation. I think that I am fairly unique in using this combination. A previous client calls my way of working as: "Deep, Direct and to the Point!"

Fairly early on, I became known for working with high level athletes from all over the UK, particularly runners, who responded very well to my treatments - healing injuries and preventing further injuries as well as improving their overall performance. I attracted clients who were major international athletes including World Champion Decathlon Silver Medalist Dean Macey, which led to my articles being featured in national magazines such as Runner's World, Athletics Weekly, Today's Runner and Positive Health. I continue to be deeply committed to helping both professional and amateur sports people to do more than just keep fit in training, but also to help them to reach their optimum performance levels, consistently. However, my work as a naturopath leads me to take a holistic approach in my work. The more I have worked with bodies and studied healing and wellness in general, the more I have understood the intimate link between the body, the mind, and the emotions. So although I work with some clients who are purely interested in getting rid of a back ache so they can get on with their lives, I also treat others who want to go deeper into personal issues such as mood disorders, extreme stress, negative belief patterns - all which often manifest as physical symptoms. The body-mind-spirit connections are powerful in all of us. I have the training, the tools and the passion to support all my clients to reach their optimum performance and access life to the full through their bodies whether they are top international athletes; a busy mum heaving toddlers in and out of car seats; a person recuperating from an illness; or a older person wanting to enjoy walking again in the sunshine without being in pain. I offer all new clients a reduced fee treatment and these can be booked by calling my clinic on 01268 287733. Graeme Stroud ND, MRN, DO, ACOH

World championship silver medallist in the decathlon, Dean Macey, described Graeme's contribution to his silver medal as '110 per cent'.

Because of injury a few days before the world championship Dean said "I couldn't even walk properly and told him I didn't think I would be going. And without Graeme I wouldn't have gone. He has got magic hands. He is the best man in his job and I owe him a little bit of my silver medal." https://zurl.co/B1Z6

I have been visiting Graeme for over 16 years, as I have suffered with a number of back and neck problems due to many years working as a hairdresser.

Graeme is the only therapist I have ever seen who instantly recognises the problem and is able to relieve the pain and discomfort quickly and effectively.

It is reassuring to feel confident that Graeme is a highly skilled professional.

Graeme has always worked wonders with his treatments for myself and my family. I suffer from a lot of back and hip pain, sometimes painful even when walking, but Graeme has always straightened me out, finding the root cause and getting me back on track.

He has also helped tremendously with my Dad who suffered a lot of spasticity following a stroke in 2008, without a doubt Graeme's treatments have contributed no end to the progress he's made, progress which the doctors said would not be possible.

My Mum and Nan have also benefited from Graeme's treatments as they suffer from arthritis.

Thanks for all the good work Graeme, I'm sure we'll be seeing you soon.

On the 2nd of September I had the pleasure of visiting Potarch in Northern Scotland and along with other lifters from Australia, Chile, The US, Ireland, Scotland and England attempt to lift the world famous Dinnie Stones which have been used as a test of strength for about 200 years.

The stones which weigh 332.5 kilos/52.36 stones, look pretty formidable up close! Thankfully I managed to lift them and become the oldest man at 64 and a half years ever to have lifted them. It was a wonderful afternoon spent with lovely people.

Thanks go to my family, friends and many osteopathic patients who wished me luck. Special thanks go to Teresa who has been my biggest and prettiest supporter as always in everything I do. Also to coach Glenn Branch who with great patience has honed my technique of lifting the stones (still room for improvement for me). https://zurl.co/iQeP8

Common Running Injuries - Groin Strain
Often the cause of a groin strain may be a quick start to a race or a sudden turn, twist or skip such as on a cross country course. https://zurl.co/ojcD

"I go to Graeme as a preventative measure so that problems do not arise. It is like having a physical MOT. I have been going for 20 years.

I travel 50 miles to see Graeme. I do this because he stretches, lightens and keeps me fit and agile in a way others do not.

Graeme's work is enabling me to continue working past retirement age with a very positive attitude, physical and mental ability on what I do best.

Graeme's professional support through both Osteopathy and Body Electronics is a key part of my health care. Graeme's contribution to my good health over the past 20 years is stunning.

I will always go to Graeme for his professional support for as long as he is there.

The people of Basildon and Southend are very fortunate to have a man of Graeme's calibre in their area."
