We now offer die sink and wire spark erosion services to compliment the CNC milling and turning.

Spark Eroding is also known as Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM). The workpiece can be any electrically conductive material.

The die sink machine uses a shaped electrode to cut the workpiece.
The CNC 4 axis Fanuc Wire EDM machine uses a 0.25mm wire to cut the material up to 150mm thickness. It can produce vertical or tapered cuts.

As you can see in the pictures, wire EDM is perfect for precision keyways, intricate shapes and delicate workpieces.

A Silk Weaving Company sent me a large stainless steel pipe fitting to copy. The thread is non standard pitch and diameter with taper. After some head scratching and careful machining the customer reports that it fits perfectly.

New (to me) Tesa Hite 700 plus m. The old 1970s Trimos height gauge finally gave up, so it had to be replaced. Essential measuring equipment for a machine shop.

My budget self built induction heater for shrink fit tooling is a surprising success. Thanks to for the layout inspiration. It's a 3kw heater running off a 48v power supply. It takes about 20 seconds to heat the toolholder enough to let a cutter slide in. Just needs an enclosure for the electronics and a slightly smaller diameter coil. I added pipe fittings to make swapping coils easier.
