Great news, I can now acquire over 90% of all chinese components , it started by repairing a couple of eBikes for a Chinese couple thus making friends before they returned back home and kept their promise of sourcing a great many components that have caused me problems over the years ..I just received my first batch.. best news in years.

SupaScooter, first one ever repaired , controller and throttle, I found the freewheel idea different where you have to move the centre k**b, twist and push action..

Biggest problem with them is the failure of the grey marked connector where the batteries connect, no voltage and all you get is a red light ..

Give me a scout if you have such a problem, it's not expensive to repair ...

There are now mainly 3 brands of mobility scooter controller for the Prides , Drive , Rehab etc... S-Drive 45amp to the mighty 90amp .., Chrome looking unit, older ones tend to be black, the Curtis 1212 a black unit with a plastic cover , Dynamic R-series controller the DR50 - DR90, again black plastic cover so how can you tell whats fitted if there is a problem ? well the Curtis controller has a two type flash code ... the most common one is the fault, 2 flash followed 3 flash then a pause and repeat.. its repairable and can be fixed cheaply..

Dynamic R series tend to blow output side , motor drive ending in a 9 flash code .. S drives again, 9 flash code, the motor drive controller components are precision fitted so can prove a problem if they blow... again all types of issues with them..from inhibit ( charger connected but it isn't ) problems to failed mosfets used for the output .. so what do I rate as the strongest controller ? the Curtis 1212 when they go wrong they are very fixable .. the others can prove to be a problem if for example motor controller components blow ..

Have you got one of those Micon powered(controller) lightweight wheelchairs with the small joystick.. Like the Drive Airfold... now if you're getting the 7 flash code , its the joystick , a component that costs £10 .. the component is obsolete but still possible to acquire from abroad ... You could replace the whole thing for less than £200 if you can get hold of one ...

The following info/ advice is specific to S Drives only..

if you get a error using a S drive whether its the 45amp or the 200amp ., it important to disconnect the battery power to the controller for 5 seconds or more ,, to clear the error , simply turning the key switch is sometimes not enough.

for example with a 5 flash , freewheel lever etc error , normally turn the key switch off and on is enough once the problem sorted .. however on a more serious fault such as a flash 7 or 8 or 9 error flash I recommend you remove a battery lead whatever to kill power because simply turning the key switch might not reset the controller so it could still give the error flash but you're certain the problem has been fixed .. so don't get caught in that loop.

Just a little update on twistgrip throttles , it now possible to use these on most controllers without the need for reprogramming etc. If you're struggling with a normal Wigwag lever type throttle then please contact me .. the throttles can be the cheap type you see on eBikes and eScooters. They use sensors internally so no moving parts etc and the actual twistgrip will cost under £20.

By the way i'm getting fake calls and I had a few fake jobs ... so if you do call don't worry, I will call you back..

Dynamic Rhino ,, brought a replacement unit to discover it either doesn't work or jumpy etc, not compatible with your scooter ? , don't worry I can take the old settings of your rhino even if it no longer turns on and setup your replacement one with the old settings.. no programmer required .. and that applies now for most controllers.

Thank you for your support everyone but to see messages from two dealers discussing my service and to remark loads of repairs have gone missing is sadly like been hit with a hammer . so that's the end of the matter.

Now ever had a shoprider compatible mobility scooter ( prorider , some Rascal models, Eden models etc and of course shoprider that simply beeps , had the controller checked out but still beeping ? ,, let's put some meaning to those sounds ..

the first one is a brake failure beep .. either the wrong resistance or a open circuit .. see latest posting for beeps codes etc
