During 2025 our volunteer drivers took older Basingstoke residents on the trips featured below. Our volunteers pick up our clients from their front door, go with them to their appointment, stay with them (unless it is a long appointment), take them home and see them back indoors safely. Our volunteers care about the well-being and safety of those we support.

We are always in need of more volunteers, please contact us for a no obligation informal chat to find out more. 01256 423855 or email info@neighbourcare.com

Loneliness is one of the biggest hidden challenges facing older people today… 💛

Did you know:
- Nearly 1 million older people in the UK feel lonely often or always
- Over 1 million can go an entire month without meaningful conversation
- 4.3 million people aged 65+ live alone, increasing the risk of isolation
- Those living alone without regular visits have a 77% higher risk of mortality over time

Loneliness isn’t just about being alone, it can have a serious impact on both mental and physical health, affecting wellbeing, confidence, and even life expectancy.

At In Home Care, Basingstoke, we believe care is about more than tasks, it’s about connection, companionship, and meaningful moments.

✨ A friendly face
✨ A listening ear
✨ A conversation that brightens someone’s day

Because sometimes, the smallest interactions make the biggest difference.

If you or a loved one could benefit from companionship-led care, we’re here to help.

Spring brings fresh energy into everything we do 🌸

In domiciliary care, this season feels especially meaningful. As the days grow longer and the sun shines a little brighter, we see the difference it makes to the people we support every single day. A short walk in the garden, opening the windows to let in fresh air, or simply enjoying a cup of tea in the sunshine can lift spirits in the most beautiful way.

Spring is also a time of renewal, a reminder that small moments matter. Whether it’s helping someone reconnect with nature, supporting them to stay independent at home, or just sharing a smile, these are the moments that make our work so rewarding.

To all our amazing care team, thank you for bringing warmth, kindness, and compassion into people’s homes every day. You truly make a difference 💛

Here’s to brighter days, fresh beginnings, and the joy that spring brings to us all.

Never underestimate the power of a good laugh. 😊

In care, laughter is so much more than a moment of fun, it’s connection, comfort, and wellbeing all rolled into one.

- A shared joke during a morning visit.

- A funny memory that brings a smile.

- That contagious laugh that fills a room.

These small moments can lift spirits, reduce stress, and remind the people we support that joy is still part of everyday life.

In domiciliary care, we’re not just helping with tasks, we’re helping people live well, feel valued, and enjoy the little things that make each day brighter. We are here to contribute to people's happiness.

Because sometimes the best medicine is simply a smile and a good laugh. But remember, happiness isn't a destination, its a journey...

The Truth About Care at Home — The Numbers Might Surprise You

90% of people say they want to stay in their own home as they age.
Yet shockingly… only 40% actually receive the support that allows them to do so.

But here’s the powerful part, domiciliary care can change that.

✔️ 80%+ of people receiving home care report a better quality of life.
✔️ 70% experience improved independence and confidence at home.
✔️ 65% of families say stress and worry significantly decrease once support is in place.
✔️ 60% fewer hospital readmissions are reported when consistent home care support is provided.

The reality is simple, home is where people heal, thrive, and feel safe. And with the right support, more people can stay exactly where they want to be.

✨ Domiciliary care isn’t just support, it’s independence, dignity, and peace of mind.

Call us on 01256 436244 or email basingstoke@in-homecare.co.uk and find out how we will support you or your loved ones.
