Tidings of comfort and joy from Hampshire Hospitals! 🎄🌟

Our Chaplaincy Team has shared a thoughtful reflection on what the festive season means for many people, recognising both the joy and the challenges it can bring.

In their article for our Hampshire Hospitals' blog, they outline the round-the-clock support they offer for patients, visitors and staff of all faiths and none, and highlight the quiet spaces available across our hospitals for reflection and remembrance.

They also share how local carol singers will once again bring music to our wards, offering moments of comfort and calm at this time of year.

Today is Safeguarding Sunday, when thousands of churches from all traditions join together to celebrate the protection of all those who are vulnerable.

A Prayer for Safeguarding Sunday 🙏
Loving and gracious God,
on this Safeguarding Sunday we hold before you all who have been harmed through abuse.
You see every story and every wound, and your heart grieves with those who suffer.
Ten years on from the Past Cases Review, we give thanks for progress made,
yet we remember those still struggling to heal.
Bring comfort, courage, and hope to all survivors, and surround them with your peace.
We pray for all who work in safeguarding;
for wisdom, compassion, and strength in their calling.
Help your Church to be a place of safety and truth,
where every voice is heard and every person valued.
Through your healing Spirit, make us instruments of love and renewal,
reflecting the light of Christ in all we do.
Amen.

Prayer can bring up some tough questions. Does it really work? Why don’t we always get the answers we’re hoping for? Those are honest and important questions to ask.

If you’re curious—or even unsure—we’d encourage you to start with an open heart and simply give prayer a try. The only real way to find out what it means is to experience it for yourself.

If you’d like a bit of help getting started, you can download our free 7-day booklet here: https://www.trypraying.org/try-it/ïżŒ

Let’s be brave enough to talk about these things. It’s okay not to have everything figured out, but we can walk this journey together.

“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” — Jeremiah 33:3
