The St John Ambulance Basingstoke unit members are actively supporting the organisation's participation in the Vaccination drive.

We are also supporting a very few events: 3 First Aiders looked after Stewards and Film personnel at Southampton FC games at St Marys stadium this week.

The Mayor’s Charity Appeal 2020/21

St John Ambulance responds to health emergencies, supports communities, and saves lives, relying on the public’s generosity to do so. With clinical expertise and nationwide presence, the volunteer-led health and first aid charity is uniquely placed to serve the country. In times of crisis the charity is England’s national health reserve.

During the pandemic, St John volunteers have already given hundreds of thousands of hours of their time, supporting the NHS in caring for patients on board ambulances, in hospitals and as part of vital community projects such as this year’s seasonal flu vaccinations.

All of that work continues and the charity has now been tasked with getting thousands of volunteers ready to administer the COVID-19 vaccine as soon as it is available.

As a charity with a long history of serving humanity, St John is proud of the charity’s past and excited about creating a healthier, safer, more resilient future. St John Ambulance has relieved people from illness, injury, distress and suffering for over 140 years and, with the public’s support, will do so for decades to come.

We have a great St John Ambulance team in Basingstoke. I am proud to be their new President

Come volunteer with us!

If you’re over 18 and want to help us save lives in your community, we’d love you to join our team. Whatever you enjoy doing, and however much time you can commit, there’s a volunteer role for you.

If you are under 18, you can get involved with one of our youth programmes. This will give you the opportunity to learn first aid alongside other important life skills.

What you’ll get in return

Volunteering is a fantastic way to enhance your CV, meet new people and connect with your community. Volunteer with us, and we’ll teach you first aid (whatever role you’ve signed up to), and provide you with equipment and uniform if required.
