It has been quite a while since I posted. How are you? I really hope life is treating you well.
The reason I have been so quiet, is that last May, I was unexpectedly taken ill and ended up in intensive care. I spent nearly two months in hospital and most of the last year recovering. It was a challenging time, but I am blessed with a wonderful family and friends that supported me and took care of me (and my husband and kids!). I feel so incredibly grateful for those beautiful people. 🙏🏻💜
The experience also gave me a whole new appreciation for my life coach training, which provided me with all the mindset tools I needed to navigate my way through such a difficult time. The old 'negative thinking me' would have gone into victim mode and spent a lot of time and energy on the unfairness of it all, focusing on what I had lost and feeling frustrated and sorry for myself.
Instead, what I felt was overwhelmingly grateful to still be alive, to get to see my kids grow up. The positive mindset I have cultivated over the last few years enabled me to focus on building up my strength little by little - being able to get from the hospital bed to the chair, building up the time I could sit for, working up to being able to walk to the bathroom. I celebrated each little milestone of my recovery and at each step I set myself a new target to achieve. Slowly but surely I got to where I wanted to be, I have my life back. 😀
Why am I sharing this with you? Because we all experience challenges in life, some small, some large, some earth shattering. You've been through challenging times in the past and you will go through challenging times in the future. Maybe you are in a challenging time right now?
The truth is, you can't control what happens in life. The ONLY thing you can control is how you respond to what happens. That is where the mindset you choose makes a difference to how you experience the challenging times - as a total disaster or as a something you can overcome (and grow from!).
How do you respond to difficulty? Do you feel like a victim, like life is happening to you? Do you get caught up in the unfairness and the 'what ifs'? Or do you accept what is happening and make the best of it? I'd love to know! Comment below and share your thoughts.

Now I am getting back to my mission, I will be posting thoughts and ideas on how you can navigate challenges with more ease and self-compassion.
In the mean time, may you be happy, may you be healthy and may your life be blessed with ease. 💜
