We had a great time visiting the Basingstoke Fire Station Open Day today (Saturday 13 September). The Emergency Services were out in force with some very impressive vehicles on display.
A big shout-out to the young fire cadets who put on some fantastic demonstrations, safely accessing and exiting the training tower and showcasing their hose-running skills (which I'm sure is a lot harder than it looks!).

🌺✨ What a fabulous afternoon we had celebrating our 10 Year Anniversary in true Hawaiian style! 🌴🌸
The room was filled with colour, laughter, and the wonderful spirit of our Care Pros and their families 💕.

We enjoyed delicious birthday cakes 🎂, a vibrant buffet, and a very special moment as we honoured our amazing colleagues who have been with us for the full 10 years with a presentation award.

It truly was a fabulous afternoon party to remember 🥳🌞 – thank you to everyone who joined us and made it so special! Here’s to the next 10 years together 💖

LET'S reminisce...
As someone relatively new to bus travel again, I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the good manners and professionalism of Stagecoach bus drivers, as well as the courtesy of fellow passengers. The driver always waits until passengers are safely seated before pulling away, and it’s heartening to hear people greeting the driver with a “Good Morning” when they board and saying “Thank you” as they leave creating a warm, respectful atmosphere that makes the journey feel much more pleasant.
This is a far cry from the bus travel I remember from years ago, in London. Back then, buses were often overcrowded, and getting a seat felt like a luxury rather than a safety measure. The driver was usually keen to get going, often pulling away while passengers were still trying to make their way down the aisle to a vacant seat -clutching handrails and trying not to lose balance with each lurch and sway of the bus. Many passengers stood for the entire journey - safety didn’t seem to be the priority it is today.
Of course, there was a conductor onboard then, and fares were paid directly to them, so the driver had no reason to wait for people to sit. I still remember the open rear platform of the bus, which some daring passengers would use to hop on—even after the bus had started moving.
How times and regulations have changed! It’s a relief and a pleasure to experience such a thoughtful and safety-conscious approach with Stagecoach today.

We provide personal and companionship care for the elderly and those in need of extra support. This care can be provided from just a few hours a day up to 24 hourly care, 7 days a week and is matched to the unique clients' needs.
