The Dementia Research Centre and Rare Dementia Support teams are asking current and former carers of people with dementia to participate in a short survey about the impact that caring for their loved one has had on their quality of life.

There is a need for more evidence in this area and in particular, on how the impact on carers changes as dementia progresses from the early to later stages of the disease. We hope that this survey will help in starting to address this evidence gap.

At Alzheimer’s Society we know the significant impact on unpaid carers and we want to make sure this is properly recognised by NICE.

The Dementia Research Centre and Rare Dementia Support teams intend to share the findings from this survey with NICE (the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) who are currently giving further consideration to their assessment of the impact of dementia on unpaid carers, as part of their appraisals of the first two disease modifying treatments for Alzheimer’s disease.

The findings will also be useful for future appraisals of new treatments.

You can take part in the survey by by 11:59pm Sunday 26 April at: http://spkl.io/6181AfTW7
