Bassingham Care Centre LN5 9HE(part of the MYCare Group) are currently looking to employ an experienced Full Time Cook in our busy Nursing Home, the applicant will be responsible for the running of the kitchen, planning menus including special dietary requirements within budget, ordering food, stock rotation and auditing. Knowledge and understanding of food safety, health and safety legislation with Coshh. 32-40 hours per week on a rota basis, including alternate weekends.

Preferably double vaccinated.

The role involves:
– assisting with washing, dressing and toilet
– assisting with meals as required
– helping to preserve resident’s dignity at all times
– to assist residents with their mobility
– to assist with the leisure activities of residents

You will be assisted by and report to senior care assistants and the home manager.

We will support you with training and development in your role.

Bassingham care centre was acquired by My-Care in 2014. The care centre accommodates a total of 58 service users. The care setting comprises of the Main House and a group of bungalows in the grounds. Each of the bungalows accommodates 2 persons. The main house has 2 lounges, relaxation suite and dining room. The bungalows have their own communal area called plus point, which has a sitting area, dining area and kitchenette. Residents and their families can help themselves to tea, coffee and cold drinks. The home is managed by Manager and Clinical Lead RMN Christine Smith (Chris) and she is supported in her role by Deputy Manager Jade Summerson.
Chris has been a registered mental health nurse since 2000 and enjoyed a small variety of nursing roles before settling at Bassingham in January 2012. She became Deputy Manager and Clinical Lead in November 2014 and then manager in 2021.
