Ever feel like you’re running on empty, even after resting?

Recently, my Garmin kept telling me:
“Body Battery low – too much stress to recover overnight.”

This might sound familiar - not enough time for naps or lie ins to recover.

Even with early nights and good intentions, your nervous system can still be stuck in over drive.

It's at these moments when I turn to my practice of Yoga Nidra, also known as yogic sleep.

It’s a guided meditation you do lying down. No movement, no effort. Just rest. It supports your body in releasing tension and gives your nervous system the reset it’s craving... the best thing is it can be done in 20 minutes - rather than finding time for an hours nap!

This practice is powerful for stress, anxiety, burnout and trauma recovery.

💜 I’ve created a free Yoga Nidra recording for anyone who wants to try it.

Send me a DM and I’ll send it straight over to you.

You don’t need to push through. You don’t have to earn your rest... and there are some great choices you can make to help your body find recovery 🙏.

When life gets hard...

This quote from one of my students was shared with me this week. Their story was as difficult as most of us could ever imagine. It was an honour to have them on our programme.

As a teacher, if I can create safety in classes, where someone is finally able find some calm and some peace - then I've achieved a huge goal.

Do you need a fancy watch to tell you how your body is doing?

Actually our bodies are talking to us all the time - giving us little reminders, "hey - check in - let me show you how I am".

We need to learn to listen to the differences in our body, the messages it's giving us that answer the question - am I ok?

We do this through our interoception. your ability to sense what’s happening inside your body.

Interoception and yoga are deeply connected because yoga helps you tune into your body’s internal signals — things like your breath, heartbeat, muscle tension, or how tired or calm you feel.

Through slow, mindful movement and breathwork, yoga strengthens interoception.

DM me if you would like to work on your interoception. There are lots of ways to start listening 👂

✨ Have you heard of Glimmers? ✨

Since I first learned about glimmers (a beautiful term from Deb Dana and Polyvagal Theory), they’ve made such a difference in my own life.

For me, glimmers are those tiny moments when my nervous system softens. A good friend always says "balm to the soul" to me, that's what a glimmer feels like. It's the opposite to a trigger, its safety.

🧡 The morning light through the window
🧡 My dog resting her head on my lap
🧡 The sound of my kids laughing
🧡 The view from our village

They’re small, but they gently remind my body: you’re safe right now.

The more I’ve practised noticing them, the more grounded, calm and resilient I feel. I try to add an anchor when I notice one, a hand on my chest, tapping or breathing - even on the harder days.

✨ That’s why I created my Glimmers Meditation — to help you start noticing and collecting these little sparks of safety too.

💌 If you’d like me to send it to you, just DM me the word GLIMMERS and I’ll send it over.

Let’s fill your day with more of these beautiful moments... once we start to notice them, they are all around us.
