NURTURE YOURSELF IN NATURE.

Immersing myself in nature is my first ‘go to’ for self-healing and self-care.

When things are whizzing round my head, I am trying to cram too many things into one day or feeling a bit down an unmotivated nature always has a way of changing how I feel.

We have so much to learn about life, plants, animals, this planet and the universe but so often get overwhelmed and consumed by the daily routine and craziness.

It doesn’t matter whether it is a 3 hour walk, 30minute open water swim or 5 minutes in the garden I know I need nature to ground myself and reset.

This is why I choose the most natural ways to improve my health and healing and offer a different approach to people recovering from injury, illness or stress.

How do you Move?

Do you know how to move in a way that makes you feel calm, happy and energised?

Mindful Movement is not a new concept; disciplines such as Yoga, Tai Chi & Qi Gong were developed between 2000-4000 years ago with the aim of improving health & wellbeing through slow, controlled and purposeful movements.

Practicing Mindful Movement and Meditation helped me at a time in my life when I was physically and emotionally low and allowed me re-connect with my body, mind, soul and spirit.

It was the inspiration for me to start my soul led business.

For me what worked was being able to combine elements of all the disciplines and making the movements work for me depending on how I was feeling.

It taught me self-awareness, self-worth, self-expression and increased my self-esteem.

Because I loved Qi Gong & Mindful Movement and had grown so much it made me want to share this beautiful way of exercising with others.

From being camera shy and scared of IT I started running and teaching online classes and it’s popularity has grown and grown.

I now provide workshops and classes for the NHS, a local retreat centre and private clients. Every session brings me joy, I absolutely love it.

💖Isn’t the human body just amazing?💖

Each week as I prepare for my classes I delve into a different area or aspect of the body and every time I am blown away by just how clever our bodies are.

This week our Body Wisdom topic is ‘The Pelvic Region’.

The pelvis connects the back to the hips and legs. It also provides a safe bowl like structure to hold and protect the bladder, bowel, reproductive organs and large intestine. Its’ stability depends on the condition of our core muscles and it is governed by the energy of the Root and Sacral Chakras. Wow!!!

Mindful movement is one way to increase your awareness and understanding of different parts of the body. So today I am helping people to connect, mobilise, strengthen and stretch everything in and around the pelvis.

Next week our focus is the 'Head and Neck'. Can’t wait!!!

KEEP BEING YOU AND DOING WHAT YOU LOVE, even if at times you feel lacking in confidence, that you don’t really fit in, or other people are doing a better job.

Why? because BEING YOU is what you will be remembered for and why people will be attracted to working with you.

This was an insight I had last week when I received an email, out of the blue, from a lovely lady who used to work in the same organisation as me. She is now in a completely different company and her team were looking for a self-employed Physiotherapist with a difference.

What was great was she remembered and thought of Me, looked at my website and got in touch.

Now, potentially, this has opened up a new, exciting opportunity where I can use all of my skills and work in the way I love alongside other therapists who are passionate about what they do.

The work I did in my old job was challenging at times but I always tried to be true to myself, provide a calm, considered holistic approach and the highest quality of care I could to our patients. Without me realising I WAS noticed by others, and now this could be adding a new dimension to my business.

Body Wisdom- Our Amazing Arms.

This week in our body wisdom topic and mindful movement classes we are showing gratitude for and focussing on our amazing arms.

We use our arms for almost everything we do and without us knowing they are key to our expression and body language.

For me they also have an important energetic connection to the rest of the body especially through the heart & throat chakras and meridian system.

Tomorrow my online classes are seated so we can really appreciate the mobility, strength, flexibility and energy we have in our arms.

Loving What You Do 😊

Today is an admin day for me, after a very busy couple of weeks.

During January I suddenly felt a huge shift in energy and today there is definitely a sense of Spring and new beginnings in the air. I even went out for a run 😱

An influx of new clients all wanting a more holistic approach to help them feel healthier, happier and pain-free.

Being invited and teaching in Guest Expert slots AND a new contract providing regular workshops and classes.

Busy times ahead but as I plan for my sessions next week, I feel excited and very lucky to be doing the work I love, using the healing power of movement and touch to help others feel better.

Do what you love, it makes you feel great and will have a huge impact on others.

How do you look after YOU?

This morning I took my wonderful old car for it’s annual MOT and service.

I've just found out it's going to cost over £800 😱but it has to be done to keep me & other road users safe.

It has made me think…🤔. We spend hundreds of pounds every year to keep our cars running and healthy but how often to we spend that much money or time to look after ourselves.

We expect our bodies to carry on with very little care and attention.

When did you last give yourself an MOT? I mean really stop and think HOW AM I? HOW CAN I LOOK AFTER MYSELF?? WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO BE HEALTHY & HAPPY??? AND then do something about it.

Looking after ourselves isn’t always easy but we can learn to tune into our body wisdom and take steps to improve our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well-being.

Enhancing my diet with superfoods, walking, Qi Gong, Yoga, Mindfulness, Meditation and Reiki is how I look after myself.

Our spines are the core structure of our bodies.

They support, protect, bend, twist and connect everything else within us.

But when they do not work properly or have been injured then living with Back Pain can be horrible.

A few months ago I had a short but painful episode of acute back pain that affected almost everything I did.

It re-emphasised to me just what my clients go through and the impact of daily pain and immobility.

Luckily, I was able to self-diagnose, practice what I preach, and the pain was under control within a week.

What worked for me was listening to my back, correcting and supporting my posture, and alternating between rest and gentle, mindful exercise.

The back is my favourite of the body to treat as it is so complex but holds so much wisdom.

Listening to the back with my hands is always fascinating but easing someone’s pain is even better. Feeling their spinal muscles relax and unwind in my hands, the bones decompress, the nervous system calm and the energy flow is just incredible.
