We recently had a visit from some of the Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers (REME) who gave an amazing interactive talk to a packed lounge full of residents. This was a fantastic, informative talk and very much enjoyed by all, we cannot wait for them to return with more items and stories

This week we marked the 98th anniversary of the release of the first Laurel and Hardy film. We played a game of guess who with our Laurel and Hardy character masks and had a special screening and watched the film in our beautiful cinema.

Recently, we celebrated the anniversary of Beatrix Potter’s The Tale of Peter Rabbit, first published in 1902.

To honour her brilliance, we enjoyed a day filled with creativity and reflection, starting with arts and crafts in the morning and then painting our own Peter Rabbits.

In the evening, we gathered to watch the film Miss Potter and remembered the joy her timeless stories have brought to our residents, their children, and their children’s children. It was a heartwarming celebration of a truly remarkable storyteller.

A massive thank you to every one who supported our MacMillan coffee morning we held yesterday. It was wonderful to see so many people enjoying such fabulous cake whilst raising money for such a fantastic cause. A huge thanks to our Regionsl Chef Sonia for such amazing cakes and Kerry and the wellbeing team for organising. Congratulations to Brian who won the huge jar of jelly beans. We are so pleased that we raised over £276 which we will send off today.

One of this weeks themes at Midford Manor is going Green where we look to see what we can reuse and recycle. This weeks arts and crafts group embraced this theme and residents and team worked on a selection of projects using recycled materials from across the home.
