This isn’t talked about enough after birth. 🤍

We talk about feeding.
Sleep.
Recovery timelines.

But not the nervous system.

In Chinese medicine, the weeks after birth are seen as a time when the body and mind are especially open and sensitive.

Add sleep disruption, constant vigilance and emotional intensity — and it’s easy for the body to remain in a subtle state of alertness.

Many women describe it simply:

Wired… but exhausted. ⚡️

Here’s what most people don’t realise —
that heightened alert state isn’t weakness. It’s protection.

Your system is doing what it’s designed to do.

The challenge comes when it struggles to shift back into rest.

Acupuncture gently supports the body’s calming pathways — particularly the parasympathetic nervous system, associated with rest, repair and a sense of safety.

Not forcing relaxation.
Not “fixing” you.
Not pushing you to bounce back.

But working with your natural regulatory systems so settling feels more accessible. 🌿

You are not failing because this feels hard.
It’s natural for it to feel hard.

And you don’t have to carry it alone. ✨

If you’re in this season —
does your body ever feel “on” even when you want to rest?

📌 Save this for the days you need reminding.

Some people come to us after they’ve run out of options.

This is one person’s experience of pregnancy, pelvic pain and those early weeks after birth.

Through joint up care with Claire and Rose we were able to support this women through some of the most challenging weeks of parenthood.

There’s a lot about this stage that isn’t talked about enough.

If you’re in it, or know someone who is, you’re not the only one.

On your period? These are the reflexology points to explore.
Part 2

Most people don’t realise that in reflexology, different areas of the foot are traditionally associated with different parts of the body.

In this part of the series, we’re looking at points often linked to the bladder and bowels, ovaries, fallopian tubes and uterus.

These areas are sometimes focused when people experience bloating, pressure or general discomfort around their cycle.

In reflexology, working these points can support:

🌿 a sense of relaxation through the body
🌿 greater awareness of where you’re holding tension
🌿 an overall feeling of ease during your cycle

If you’re curious about how different reflexology points are traditionally used, save this post so you can come back to it — and keep an eye out for Part 3.

Not everyone wants to go straight to medication.

Some people explore holistic therapies such as acupuncture alongside other options during menopause.

Recent research has looked at how acupuncture may support people experiencing:

🌿hot flushes
🌿 sleep disruption
🌿 mood changes
🌿 overall quality of life

For many, it’s not about quick fixes — it’s about finding approaches that feel supportive, manageable and aligned with how they want to care for themselves.

If you’re navigating menopause and looking into different approaches, it’s one option some people choose to explore.

⚖️What actually is osteopathy?⚖️

It’s often described as a hands-on way of understanding how the body is moving and adapting.

Rather than focusing on one specific area, osteopathy looks at the body as a whole system — how different parts are connected and how they influence each other.

For example, a change in how you move or hold yourself can have an effect elsewhere in the body over time.
The body is constantly adjusting, compensating and trying to keep things working.

Osteopathy is based on the idea that when movement is more balanced and unrestricted, the body is generally better able to function and adapt to everyday life.

Treatment involves a range of manual techniques, many of them gentle, used to explore areas of tension, restriction or imbalance.

Osteopathy has been a regulated healthcare profession in the UK since 1993.

“Theres nothing you can do about Pelvic Girdle Pain (PGP)” - not always true

Many pregnant individuals are told that Pelvic Girdle (PGP) is something you simply have to wait out.
But NHS and RCOG guidance suggests that support can help improve comfort and daily movement during pregnancy.

Many people come to Stillpoint for support with everyday comfort during pregnancy, guidance around posture and movement, better understanding of what their body is doing and space to feel supported.

Not every new parent in Bath knows this exists…

Many families looking for postpartum support in Bath aren’t aware there is a free local service offering postnatal osteopathy for mums and newborns on low-income.

At Stillpoint we house Baby Check Bath, a charity helping families navigate the early weeks with their baby.

Why this matters:

• the early weeks with a newborn can feel overwhelming
• some babies are unsettled or hard to soothe
• feeding and sleep can feel challenging
• many parents don’t know where to turn for support

💛Baby Check Bath provides free osteopathy checks for mums and babies under 3 months for families in Bath & North East Somerset.💛

It’s about helping parents feel calmer, supported and less alone.

If you know someone in Bath with a newborn, this could really help them.

📍Share this so more local families know support is available.

On Sunday our team ran the Bath Half for Baby Check Bath

Baby Check Bath is our local in-house charity at Stillpoint centre for health and wellbeing - that supports families with newborns in Bath during the postpartum period by offering free osteopathy checks to mums and newborns on low income.

For many parents, the early weeks with a newborn can feel uncertain — especially when babies are unsettled or hard to soothe. Having trusted information and local support can make a huge difference.

In this reel you’ll hear some of the reasons our runners chose to take part and support Baby Check Bath.

❤️A huge thank you to all 20 of our team who completed the Bath Half yesterday — an incredible effort for an important cause ❤️

We’re very close to reaching our fundraising target, so if you’ve been thinking about donating, we’d love your support.

The JustGiving link is in our bio.

And please join us in congratulating the team 👏

Not all Mother’s Day gifts feel meaningful… but this one does.

Many people in Bath looking for thoughtful wellness gifts choose reflexology treatments at a Bath-based centre for health and wellbeing like Stillpoint.

People often choose reflexology gift vouchers because:

🌿 it creates space for genuine relaxation in a calm wellness setting

🌿 it introduces someone to holistic therapies and alternative therapies they may not have tried before
🌿 it offers time to pause, slow down and be looked after

At Stillpoint Bath, our practitioners offer a range of holistic therapies including reflexology, acupuncture, osteopathy, massage and homeopathy, creating a calm environment designed around wellbeing.

Sometimes the most appreciated gifts are the ones that give someone permission to rest.
