The sun shone for this week’s Tree Trail!

Led by Hugh and Fiona from Bath Urban Treescape, our lovely group followed a gentle trail around the ReMind UK centre, discovering the wonderful variety of trees right on our doorstep.

Afterwards, we spent a relaxed hour together chatting, learning, reading poetry and even taking part in a fun quiz.

Our Tree Trails are just one of the many free support activities we offer for people living with dementia and their loved ones and carers.

You can find our full calendar of support events on our website, with more autumn activities being added over the coming weeks - https://www.reminduk.org/get-support/

April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month 💜 There are around 153,000 people living with Parkinson’s in the UK and this number is rising.

While many people know Parkinson’s affects movement, it can also impact memory, thinking and mental health. Over time, some people may develop dementia.

Parkinson’s affects everyone differently and many people continue to live active and fulfilling lives. But understanding the full picture can help people get the right support earlier.

What's good for your heart is good for your brain 💜🧠

Did you know that cholesterol levels in midlife can play a role in your risk of developing dementia? Research shows that higher levels of "bad" LDL cholesterol may be linked to an increased risk, while maintaining healthy levels can support both heart and brain health.

Simple steps like staying active, eating a balanced diet, attending your GP health checks and understanding your cholesterol numbers can make a real difference.

Dementia research is making a real difference...

not only for those living with the condition, but for the people who care for them 💜

When John’s wife, Linda, was diagnosed with semantic dementia, he suddenly found himself navigating life as both husband and carer. Through ReMind UK, he joined the CareCoach study, an online programme offering learning resources and personalised support via email, video calls or phone.

By taking part, John is helping researchers understand what carers truly need, shaping better support for families affected by dementia. Along the way, he’s also gained valuable support himself.

👉Hear about John's experience in his own words and read the full story on our website https://www.reminduk.org/2026/03/17/how-dementia-research-is-making-a-real-difference-for-carers-johns-story/
