I often get asked to explain kinesiology. This sums it up well.

Kinesiology is one of the fastest growing modalities in the UK!

However, we often get asked what it is and how it works so this post gives a short explanation of the magic that happens in a session.

💪Kinesiologists use muscle response testing as a way of getting biofeedback from your body.

Kinesiology is based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Each muscle we test is linked to one of the five elements, a meridian (energy pathway), an organ and an emotion.

If a muscle tests strong or locked, we know that the body is in balance in that corresponding 'system'. If a muscle tests weak/unlocks or is hypertonic (overly strong), we know there is an imbalance in that system or circuit.

We then work to restore balance to all of the areas the body has confirmed are priority through muscle testing. There may be physical, biochemical, emotional or electrical (energetic) imbalances. Often there are imbalances in all 4 realms.

Using specific tools and techniques such as; massaging neuro lymphatic points, holding neuro vascular points, running meridians to encourage the flow of energy, emotional stress release, nutritional support and electrical balancing, Kinesiologists make corrections to bring the body back into a state of homeostasis.

Not only will you immediately feel different and more relaxed, your body will confirm through a strong muscle response that a natural balanced state has been restored.

Kinesiology is like MAGIC! ✨ Many of our clients describe it this way too.

There are many benefits to choosing Kinesiology for your health and wellbeing needs.

Here are just a few of them:
✅It's natural and promotes natural self-healing
✅It heals the issue at the root rather than treating the symptom
✅It's holistic
✅It focuses on the whole person
✅It's simple
✅It's non-invasive
✅It's effective and long-lasting

This is valuable for anyone experiencing menopausal symptoms

I’ve been asked which Bach flowers can help with menopause. First off, it’s really important to recognise that in selecting flowers you must identify how you feel emotionally. Any woman who has gone through the menopause (yes, it does eventually pass) or are still in the throes of it, often find that the physical symptoms of the menopause are certainly not comfortable. How you cope emotionally will have an impact on how you manage this life stage, and for some women there might be a range of changing emotions and chaotic thinking.

Bach flowers can help you recalibrate your emotions and reclaim the inner resources to help accommodate and adjust to this significant life stage.

A few examples of the Bach flowers that women have found pertinent during menopause are:

Mood swings — Scleranthus, Cherry Plum
Irritability — Impatiens, Beech, Vervain*
Anger — Willow, Cherry Plum, Holly
Self: disgust/guilt/denial — Crab Apple, Pine, Rock Water
Emotional fatigue or inertia— Olive, Oak, Centaury, Wild Rose
Brain fog — Clematis, Chestnut Bud, Hornbeam
Anxiety — Aspen, Mimulus, Rock Rose
Sadness — Gentian, Mustard, Gorse

*There are high profile campaigners in the UK channeling Vervain energy to raise awareness of menopausal issues.

Sometimes too if there is a grieving or longing for what was then Honeysuckle. Walnut to aid in adjusting to change. And if it all feels rather traumatic then Star of Bethlehem. Many women carry the crisis formula around with them so if they’re having a hot flush at an inopportune moment, it helps to remain calm and composed — and maybe even laugh it off as a “power surge”! A lot of emotional energy goes into denying how we really feel inside during those public moments, and when we take that pressure off ourselves and acknowledge it, it helps us breathe out and relax more.

The Bach flowers listed above are only a very tiny snapshot from the 38 flowers. So I’d suggest you don’t go rushing out to buy remedies until you’ve clearly identified your emotions and can accurately match those to the corresponding flowers that are right for you. You can have up to 7 in your personal mix. You might also find talking to a Bach Foundation Registered Practitioner a good way to learn more about the flowers and yourself.

What is your experience of using any of the Bach flowers during menopause? 🌺

A Water Crystal Photo from Amazon River, Colombia.

Even though the river water was muddy, it turned to be a surprisingly pure clean crystal. There are indigenous people who live in Amazon jungle and they have always lived in harmony with everything in forest. This crystal is reminiscent of creating such harmony between people and nature.

What are your rescue remedy stories?

What are your rescue remedy stories?

The end of an era. Following the death of Queen Elizabeth II there are many people in the UK and around the world feeling affected, one way or another, by her passing.

Life events (in the public arena or not) or daily incidents can be unsettling or shocking or anywhere inbetween. Such moments and times can require us to gather our internal resources, become focused and deal with the situation we find ourselves in. Whether we are grieving, angry, nervous, frightened or in shock, there is a composite Bach remedy, readily available in high street pharmacies or health food stores (sold under brand names i.e. Rescue Remedy, Five Flower Essence), that is always useful to have handy.

In the winter of 1933 in Cromer, Dr Bach used his crisis formula:

“A man who had been strapped to the mast of a wrecked barge for five hours in a terrible gale was brought ashore by the lifeboat. He was delirious, foaming at the mouth, helpless and almost frozen, his life despaired of. As he was carried up the sands to a nearby house, Dr Bach (who carried this mix in his pocket) repeatedly moistened the man’s lips with the rescue remedy., and before he had been stripped of his clothing and wrapped in warm blankets he was sitting up and in his right mind, asking for a cigarette. He was taken to hospital, and after a few days rest he had completely recovered from his dreadful experience.”

At the time, the formula consisted of 3 flowers: Rock Rose (for emergency, terror and panic); Clematis (for unconsciousness, fainting, coma); Impatiens (for mental tension and resistance which results in physical contraction and pain).*

Later Dr Bach found two more flowers to add: Cherry Plum for losing control and Star of Bethlehem for trauma. Which is the combination we still have today.

Performers are known to use this formula before going on stage. Parents give it to their children if there’s been an upsetting incident. Animals receive it when there are fireworks (I’ve also squirted diluted drops on the feathers of birds caught by cats — and then watch them fly away). Adults use it to cope with a stressful day. So if you are attending an emotional event (such as a funeral) and don’t want your tears to get the better of you in public, then keep your bottle of the crisis formula in your pocket like Dr Bach, just in case you need it or somebody else does.

What experiences of the rescue remedy/crisis formula can you share? 🌺

Check which supplements, if any, you need. Kinesiology takes away the guesswork!

Kinesiologists check for imbalances in the body across 4 realms: Physical, Biochemical, Emotional/Mental, Energetic/Electrical.

One of the Biochemical aspects we look into is deficiencies in vitamins and minerals.

The way our food is harvested and processed means that at times - particularly when stress levels are high - it's difficult to get all we need from our diets.
But it's not just about that. It could be that your body isn't absorbing or using the nutrients properly.

Here are 5 of the most common deficiencies and what can happen if we don't have enough:

1️⃣B12 - tiredness, weakness, tingling or weakness in the hands & feet, increased heart rate, poor appetite
2️⃣Magnesium - muscle spasms, cramps, asthma, poor mental health, irregular heartbeat, low/high blood pressure & blood sugar
3️⃣Omega 3 - skin, hair & nail issues, sleep problems, difficulty concentrating, joint pain, stiffness, increased risk of heart disease
4️⃣Vitamin A - fatigue, risk of illness & infection, reduced vision, poor skin health. In severe cases, vitamin A deficiency can increase the risk of infertility & miscarriage
5️⃣Vitamin D - lower immunity, weaker muscles, less bone mass, less calcium absorption

Everybody is unique so it's not just about taking ALL THE THINGS in the hope we reach optimum levels!

To find out exactly what your body may be deficient in, book an appointment with your local Kinesiologist. You can find them here: https://buff.ly/3sGRitK
