What is Time to Talk Day?
Time to Talk Day is an annual awareness day held at the beginning of February. It’s a day for us all to start a conversation about mental health. Talking about mental health isn't easy. But a conversation has the power to change lives.
Time to Talk Day is run by Mind and Rethink Mental Illness, in partnership with the Co-op.
How to start a conversation:
You don't have to host a huge event to get the conversation going on Time to Talk Day. Remember, every conversation matters. Here are some ideas to get you started.

This week is Cervical Cancer Prevention Week.

Every day in the UK, 2 women lose their lives to cervical cancer and 9 more receive a life-changing diagnosis.

Did you know Sweden is likely to eliminate cervical cancer before 2030? With Australia not far behind them as well.

NHS England has pledged to eliminate cervical cancer by 2040 but together with Jo’s cervical cancer trust we want to eliminate this sooner.

December saw 19 missed GP appointments, this equates to 3 hours of lost clinical time.

There were 54 missed nursing appointments, equating to 10 hours of lost clinical time.

If you can not attend your appointment, please let us know so we can give that appointment to another patient.

During November, there were 36 nursing appointments missed, this equates to 8.5 hours of lost appointment time.

There was also 19 GP/ANP appointments missed during November, this equates to 3.5 hours of lost appointment time.

The theme of this year is ‘Act Earlier’, as COPD develops slowly over many years patients may not be aware they have it. It is important to make patients aware of the common symptoms.
Common symptoms of COPD include:
• shortness of breath – this may only happen when exercising at first, and you may sometimes wake up at night feeling breathless
• a persistent chesty cough with phlegm that does not go away
• frequent chest infections
• persistent wheezing

As a veteran Friendly GP we ;

Have a clinical lead for veteran health, who is supported by the whole practice to improve veteran health services,

Ask patients “if you have served in the Armed Forces?” To help identify patients and code them on our system
Support veteran patients to access dedicated health services,

Undertake regular training and development to meet the health commitment of the Armed Forces Covenant and better understand the needs of veteran patients,

If you are a veteran patient, please let us know that you have served so that we can make sure that we understand your health needs.

If a child misses their vaccination in school they will be prompted to book in to a community clinic.

Parent’s/ Guardians should not contact their GP practice as GPs do not routinely give vaccinations to school-aged children.

64 Nurse appointments were not attended, this equates to 916 minutes of lost time,
