A few helpful guidelines:
1. Buy rocks from small shops or garden centres. Can buy bags of them.
2. We advise against taking rocks from the beach as this is frowned upon, please check local rules. The UK Coastal protection law of 1949 says you cannot remove materials (stones) from beaches. Do not take from other people/gardens/parks without permission.
3. Use sharpies, chalk, pens or paint to decorate rocks however you like... cartoons, minions, designs, spots, phrases or names. It is up to you and your children.
4. When dry, to weatherproof/protect your rocks from the weather we recommend you use a sealant eg such as pva glue, proper sealants from diy shop/£shop, clear nail polish, varnish etc.
5. Write on the back "Post a picture of me on Buttons Rocks at Batley Park face book group. Please rehide". If wanted put initials or name for your rock making team/family.
6. Be careful where you hide them e.g not on private land, middle of the road or near where lawnmowers are used. Ask permission if on business land or private property.
7. Hide in the woodland, near the lake, parks, next to benches, bins, cafe, etc etc signs for a few examples.
8. Please hide in public areas and in areas where they will not interfere with lawn mowers or fall on someone causing harm.
9. Any photos or posts which are inappropriate or offensive in nature will be removed, and the person who made the post will be removed from the site. we operate a zero tolerance to meanness.
No advertising whatsoever! These posts will be deleted immediately and the member may be removed from this group!
