Flu vaccinations start this week (1st October) so it may take a bit longer to get your prescriptions ready, you are welcome to phone the pharmacy (01248810312) to make an appointment for services UTI, sore throat, common ailments etc if you walk in you may be asked to wait or return for an appointment. Please be patient with staff, everyone will be seen.

IMPORTANT REMINDER FOR PATIENTS
We ask for 5 working days to process repeat prescriptions - this allows time for the surgery and the pharmacy to process & prepare your medications for collection.

We appreciate occasionally circumstances and life events can mean that you maybe delayed in requesting your prescriptions the odd time and we will always try our best to help you.

However please remember it is a patient's responsibility to remember to order prescriptions in good time. Please consider how you can do this, be it a reminder on your phone, a calendar etc.

There are two things patients can do to help make this process more time-efficient:
1. We want to send your prescription electronically to a pharmacy (saves time & paper) but we need you tell us that you agree and inform us which pharmacy please.
2. If you are happy to register for the NHS Wales App this also makes ordering & processing repeat prescriptions more efficient & quicker.

It is not a patient's right to demand your medication immediately simply because you are running out and haven't left sufficient time to order. So please be respectful to our staff, who do their very best to help you if they can.

The NHS has a clear zero-tolerance approach to abuse and violence against its staff and if a person is violent, abusive or threatening to any staff member, however whilst some patients fall below this level they are still very rude and demanding when they contact us. Please can we ask those patients to be considerate when they contact us.

We acknowledge that this message does not apply to the majority of people using our services and for everyone who shows kindness and patience to our staff, it is greatly appreciated, thank you

FREE flu vaccinations are available at the chemist, if you’re eligible for a free one or whether you would like to pay for a private one (£19.99) make an appointment from the 1st of October on a Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday.

Here are some of the categories that allow you to have a free flu jab, there are others e.g carers, front line workers etc are also entitled to a free one.
If you’re not eligible you are welcome to book a private one £19.99.

TUMMY BUGS

If your child has diarrhoea or vomiting, you’ll need to keep them at home for 2 days after their symptoms have passed. Diarrhoea is often caused by a virus or “bug” that is easily spread between children who are in physical contact with each other. Tummy cramps, vomiting, fever and body aches are also common signs of a tummy bug. Most children with diarrhoea have mild symptoms that improve in a few days and can be cared for at home.

♻️Our bags are made of sugarcane and recycled plastics.

♻️Our bags are also recyclable.

♻️We can provide paper bags, however, we can not hang these in our dispensary. They are also not as strong as the recyclable bags. We use the paper bags when we are able to; such as PillPouch and acute medications.

However, Rowlands are taking steps to lower our carbon footprint 👣

As of September 15th, we will no longer recieve Saturday deliveries and we will recieve only one delivery per day 🎉
