We're hosting a hands-on, collaborative event where people with lived experience, health professionals, and problem-solvers come together to tackle real challenges around diabetes.

You don’t need technical skills – just curiosity, openness, and a willingness to share your perspective. Whether you live with diabetes, support someone who does, or work in health or the community, your voice matters.

We’re running both daytime and evening sessions to make it easy for everyone to attend, plus optional healthy eating and physical activity sessions throughout the day.

Temporary Endoscopy Unit at Ysbyty Gwynedd

From Sunday 18 January, a temporary Endoscopy Unit will be positioned in the maternity car park at Ysbyty Gwynedd for a period of approximately five months.

This temporary facility is being introduced to help significantly reduce waiting times for diagnostic endoscopy procedures, supporting patients who have been waiting longer than we would like for important investigations. By increasing endoscopy capacity in this way, the unit will enable us to see more than 1,500 patients during this period, representing a key step in tackling our waiting lists and improving timely access to care for our patients.

The temporary unit is being located on the Ysbyty Gwynedd site because this allows us to safely deliver a wider range of endoscopy procedures. Locating the unit on a non-acute site would significantly limit the breadth of procedures we could offer and reduce the benefit to patients waiting for care.

As a result, there will be a temporary reduction in the number of parking spaces available in the maternity car park. We recognise this will have a noticeable impact on patients, staff and visitors, and are currently working to identify where parking spaces can be provided elsewhere on the hospital site.

We apologise for any disruption this may cause and ask patients, visitors and members of the public to consider alternative methods of transport where possible, or to allow extra time when travelling to the hospital to ensure there is sufficient time to find a parking space ahead of appointments.

We would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding while these important measures are put in place to improve access to care for our patients.

Uned Endosgopi Dros Dro yn Ysbyty Gwynedd

O ddydd Sul, 18 Ionawr, bydd Uned Endosgopi dros dro wedi'i lleoli ym maes parcio'r adran famolaeth yn Ysbyty Gwynedd am gyfnod o tua phum mis.

Cyflwynir y cyfleuster dros dro hwn i helpu lleihau amseroedd aros ar gyfer triniaethau endosgopi diagnostig. Bydd yn helpu cleifion sydd wedi bod yn aros yn hirach nag yr hoffem am ymchwiliadau pwysig. Bydd yr uned yn cynyddu capasiti endosgopi a’n galluogi i weld mwy na 1,500 o gleifion yn ystod y cyfnod hwn. Mae’n gam allweddol wrth fynd i'r afael â'n rhestrau aros a gwella mynediad amserol at ofal i'n cleifion.

Bydd yr uned dros dro yn cael ei lleoli ar safle Ysbyty Gwynedd oherwydd bod hyn yn caniatáu i ni ddarparu ystod ehangach o driniaethau endosgopi yn ddiogel. Byddai lleoli'r uned ar safle nad yw'n safle acíwt yn cyfyngu'n sylweddol ar yr ystod o driniaethau y gallwn eu cynnig ac yn lleihau'r budd i gleifion sy'n aros am ofal.

O ganlyniad, bydd gostyngiad dros dro yn nifer y lleoedd parcio sydd ar gael ym maes parcio'r adran famolaeth. Rydym yn cydnabod y bydd hyn yn cael effaith amlwg ar gleifion, staff ac ymwelwyr, ac rydym wrthi'n gweithio i nodi ble gellir ail-ddarparu lleoedd parcio mewn mannau eraill ar safle'r ysbyty.

Ymddiheurwn am unrhyw aflonyddwch ac anghyfleustra y gallai hyn ei achosi a gofynnwn i gleifion, ymwelwyr ac aelodau'r cyhoedd ystyried dulliau trafnidiaeth eraill lle bo modd, neu ganiatáu amser ychwanegol wrth deithio i'r ysbyty i sicrhau bod digon o amser i ddod o hyd i le parcio cyn apwyntiadau.

Hoffem ddiolch i bawb am eu hamynedd a'u dealltwriaeth tra bod y mesurau pwysig hyn yn cael eu rhoi ar waith i wella mynediad at ofal i'n cleifion.

07/01/2026

A new Varicella (chickenpox) vaccine has been introduced from 1st January 2026 into the child health immunisation programme.

Here is a brief summary of the changes.

Parents - don't worry we will contact you when your child is due these immunisations and full information will be provided. You don't need to do anything at this point.

This will be combined with the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine into a single measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (MMRV) vaccine. This change means that children due their first or second MMR vaccine from 1 January 2026 will now be offered combined MMRV vaccine instead of MMR.

There will also be a catchup campaign later in the year for older children.

The MMR vaccine alone will no longer be available for the NHS routine childhood programme and there is no singular varicella vaccine available from 1 January 2026.

For the first time, children will be offered vaccination on the NHS against the common infection which, in rare cases, can be very serious.

There are some things that are mandated by Welsh Government that unfortunately we (and other surgeries) are not able to change - the telephone message is one example (we know its long and have requested repeatedly to change this).

Annwyl Gleifion
Helpwch ni drwy glicio ar y ddolen isod i gwblhau ein harolwg cleifion. Os ydych chi wedi gael profiad da rhowch wybod i ni os gwelwch yn dda, neu os ydych yn meddwl yn gallem wella.
Rhannwch gyda chleifion eraill - mae eich barn yn bwysig i ni.
