We started our day with the A-Z of Positivity with some fabulous words. We had a break with some fruity mocktails and continued our card games club with Uno and Happy Families. Our last word game of the day used the letters of Thursday and three categories. Great work everyone!

Day centre made some Peach smoothies this morning to celebrate Peach Month. 🍑 Delicious! Keeping in with the fruity theme we embarked on a collaborative fruit bowl art project. Each person had a fruit and, using watercolours or pens, made their own interpretation. Fruity and fabulous day!

We ventured to Dartmoor today in the minibus avoiding the busy coastal routes. We enjoyed a picnic at Prewley Moor and then went on to Meldon Reservoir for a walk across the dam. The water was very low! Beautiful scenery.

Millie, the therapy dog, visited on Monday. We were very pleased to see her but kept her away from the saxophones!

Bank holiday Monday continued our British Seaside theme with a chance for our Monday day centre clients to enjoy some of the activities that our residents have over the past few days. They made sand bottles, explored memorabilia, puzzles, whippy ice cream and a stick of rock. As a finale to our special weekend celebrating the British Seaside, Jo and Margaret hosted a saxophone quartet with our very own Mike Ritson & his Saxwitches. With a full house, singing, dancing and clapping, I think we can say'What a weekend!'. A big thank you to everyone involved.

Who remembers going to the seaside and returning with a bottle of sand? Well, that's what we did today! Some lovely sand creations, all different. After a delicious roast beef lunch we enjoyed a trip down the east coast of the UK, courtesy of Ivan, showing some fantastic slides from his adventures with Sheila. Meanwhile Hattie, engaged some with the beach jigsaw, some wordsearches and seaside memorabilia.
