A beautiful day in the gardens, inspecting the borders, listening to the birdsong and enjoying a chat. As the sun started to go down it was time to go back in for an ice lolly and a game of hoop-la.

A fabulous day in day centre today with family fortunes bringing some laughter and chat in the morning, and in the afternoon, we welcomed back Bex Tupholme with her fantastic set of songs that had us all singing along, clapping and dancing. Thank you Becky Tupholme for a lovely afternoon 😍

Today at West Heanton, we spent time creating a beautiful Easter display using recycled materials. Our clients were focused, engaged, and thoroughly enjoyed designing their own unique pieces of art.
The day was rounded off with a delicious roast lamb dinner, followed by a relaxing afternoon of card games and chair exercises. A wonderful day had by all!

A busy craft club in day centre created some marbled eggs by drawing a design on paper towels then wrapping an egg inside and dipping and drying it. Some lovely effects and the darker pens certainly worked better. We then moved on to our larger papier mache eggs. One layer down, at least two to go! We completed categories beginning with B and tried the card association game again today.

An ambitious Cottage Cheesecake was cooked up by our Monday Cookery club today led by Debbie who brought in some delicious plums for the cheesecake. It was so big it took longer to cook than the recipe suggested but it was certainly well worth the wait. While we waited we played the categories game using the letters from Monday, and danced in our chairs for Move It Monday and wished one of our lovely ladies a very happy birthday. This afternoon, we played Nature Bingo and tried our hand at a new game introduced by Erika. Similar to word association but using picture cards, the first person to get rid of their cards by associating it with the previous card, wins the game. This led to some very funny associations!

A Mother's Day full of love, cards, families, flowers and presents. It's a privilege to be part of such a special day for so many families and all our ladies that we care for, received a brooch from the team today ❤️
