Some days call for a change of pace.
Today was a wet, wild, grey January kind of day — so the horses had a well-earned day off and sessions moved indoors.

The wood burner was lit, the office was warm and calm, and while the storm did its thing outside, we stayed safe and toasty inside. No ponies today… but plenty of cuddles from Beti, who was very happy to curl up and share her loving energy with clients🤍

Sometimes the most powerful space is simply warmth, safety, and connection.

Building an “obstacle course” and learning all about healthy communication is a pretty perfect way to stay warm on a cold January day 🧣✨
Confidence-building, connection, teamwork, and exploring what friendship really means — all wrapped up in a bit of fun and play.

All in a day’s work, made even better with the help of the lovely Tallulah Belle 🐴💛

Whoop whoop! Just in case anyone needs a little boost to get through the rest of winter…
The days are getting lighter again 🌅💛
Longer afternoons, a little more warmth in the light, and small reminders that spring is quietly on its way.

If you’re feeling tired, heavy, or a bit flat — you’re not alone. But you’ve made it through the darkest part….
One step, one day, one brighter evening at a time 💛

A little clip shared with kind permission. I took this video to show the client how in sync Berti is with them. Anyone who knows Big B knows he only ever works in cooperation and relationship. He chooses when he wants to be with someone. For this young person, this was a quiet, meaningful lesson in trust — and a small glimpse of the work we do at Silver Horse 💚🐴💚

Our first full week of 2026, after a bit of a false start with last week’s snow and ice.

Silver Horse has now been open for just over a year — and we are busy. I feel incredibly grateful for the trust placed in this space as we continue to welcome people of all ages, gender identities, sexual orientations, races, and abilities.

I’ve allowed the business to grow organically, and the largest group I’ve had the privilege to support so far has been neurodivergent young people — many experiencing anxiety, school-related struggles, and isolation.

Silver Horse offers an unpressured, low-key, natural environment. The herd are calm, curious, and quietly accepting, making them powerful and peaceful therapy partners. 💚🐴💚

I’m really looking forward to the year ahead and to supporting many more people as this work continues to grow.

Happy New Year! ❄️ An unexpected snow day and I’m like a small child all over again. Despite frozen water buckets and cold hands, I’m absolutely loving it. You can really see how effective the ponies’ coats are at trapping heat — the snow just settles on top of them, proof of how warm they are underneath. There’s something so special about seeing nature doing its thing like this. 🐴✨

Embracing this quiet time between Christmas and New Year 🌿
A gentle week for the horses and a chance to enjoy some simple enrichment. Flower and I had the loveliest walk today — we met some very curious cows and she thoroughly enjoyed a bit of snacking along the way!
We don’t always get enough time for slow, quality moments together, so days like this feel extra special. She’s wonderful company and always up for a little adventure 🤍🐴

December may have been a month of poorly humans and even more poorly horses, but we’re finally on the mend! Christmas Day was delightfully quiet and cosy, with two-legged and four-legged friends lounging, resting, and enjoying some very well-earned downtime. Chaos turned into calm, and it was lovely to just soak it all in 🐴💚🐾

Love this big mud monster. So good to see him enjoying a little cheeky opportunist snack as I prep for client sessions today 💚🐴💚

Hedge-trimming day today! Our local farmer came by to tidy up the track, and the horses were more than happy to help with the cleanup — enjoying some tasty willow and hazel snacks from the cuttings! 🐴🌿

Sometime Equine Assisted Therapy is as simple as this: 🌸 Flower offering a gentle, calming presence for a younger client. It is incredible to watch how her soft, steady energy creates a sense of safety and comfort. Simple and powerful sensory connection like this allow us to explore and process big emotions in a grounded, supported way 🐴💚🐴
