Step out of the noise of everyday life and into a quieter, calmer space.

This experience brings together gentle, flowing yoga and the subtle power of sound therapy, creating an afternoon designed to help you deeply unwind, release tension, and settle the mind.

What you’ll experience…

~ A slow, accessible yoga practice to ease the body open, soften areas of tightness, and invite a sense of steadiness into both body and mind

~ A deeply restorative sound bath with crystal bowls and percussion, led by Liz Greenwood. The soothing vibrations help quiet mental chatter and guide you into a deeper state of rest

~ Simple breathwork and meditation to close, allowing everything to integrate—leaving you feeling clearer, calmer, and more at ease

£30 per person

Ready to shake off the winter stiffness and bring a little spring into your step?!

If your body’s been craving a reset after a slow, sluggish winter, Pilates is a great place to begin.

Build strength, improve mobility and bolster your balance, in a low impact, joint friendly, breath centered practice. Pilates will help you to connect with your body in a whole new way. Come and give it a try!

• Mondays, 6-7pm, Bedale Methodist Church
• Thursdays, 9.15-10.15am, Masham Town Hall

Mondays have a little challenge for those who'd like it, (always optional!) Thursdays are a little more beginner friendly.

In the last week of every month, in all my yoga classes, we have Restorative Week.

We step away from the usual rhythm and move into something slower, quieter, more introspective.

At its heart, yoga is the practice of working with the mind. Learning how to steady it, how to guide it, rather than be pulled around by it.

The practice of returning to the present isn’t just a nice idea - it’s a skill. One that helps us meet life with more clarity, calm, and awareness.

Next week, we’ll spend longer in - a full, guided experience of deep rest. We’ll also revisit a balancing breath work technique and a simple meditation, to help steady and focus the mind.

If you often find yourself caught inside a busy brain, anxiety or overwhelm, these are the practices for you.

Last night in yoga class, we briefly discussed a concept from Eckhart Tolle — the pain-body.

He describes the pain-body as a storehouse of old emotional energy; anger, grief, rejection, injustice...
Things we’ve felt in the past that haven’t fully dissolved.

And then something small happens… A passing comment, a funny look, a blunt email... And the pain-body gets triggered.

A surge of emotion, a tightness in the chest, a pain in the stomach. A story that escalates quickly in the mind and soon becomes all consuming.

We become upset, angry, hurt, indignant and even outraged. The pain-body has taken control!

What Tolle teaches, is that the way through isn’t to suppress or act on the triggered pain-body...

But to be present with it. To just be aware. To allow it to be, just as it is, without any judgement. To feel it in the body, without feeding the story in the mind.

Because in the awareness, the grip begins to loosen.
The current slows. Something shifts. Not because the feeling has been pushed away, but because it’s been seen. Fully. Honestly. Without resistance.

I met a woman yesterday who's recently moved to after a big life change. She works remotely from home, 9-5, and has found it difficult to make new connections and build a social life.

She's going to come along to my classes at the Methodist Church next week on a night after work. I was hoping that some of my local students might be able to suggest other groups or meet ups in and around the area? She works full time, so would need to be on evenings and weekends.

I was reminded yesterday of this monthly wellbeing meet up in Masham on a Tuesday night which sounds rather lovely!

How have you found this winter?

If, like me, you found it a little heavy… Take heart. Spring is already unfolding.

I took a walk in what felt like the first sunshine of the year this week. My whole system seemed to exhale. I felt my spirits lift. Isn't it amazing what sunlight can do?

And now we arrive at the Spring Equinox — that delicate tipping point where day and night stand in equal balance. From here, the light begins to take the lead.

Spring reminds us that no matter how dark or long the winter may feel, it will eventually, inevitably end. Sunlight and better times are only ever a season away. As Khalil Gibran wrote; "No winter lasts forever, no spring skips its turn."🌞

The true new year begins in spring 🌱

Nature starts to stretch, reach and unfurl again… And our bodies desire to do the same.

My classes in March act as a kind of seasonal reset.
It's time to stretch out and shake off Winter lethargy and heaviness and give our bodies a well needed Spring clean!

Side bends, as in the picture above, are brilliant for our body in Springtime, as they help to release stagnation from the ribs, lengthen the waist and expand the breath into the deeper parts of the lungs.

Join one of my yoga or Pilates classes each week in Bedale or Masham, for some side bending, stagnation clearing, Spring themed movement this March!

Mixed ability, beginner friendly and intermediate levels catered for.
