I visited a lovely lady who wasn't very happy with her feet, she felt embarrassed and wouldn't go out with sandals on.

I observed what is called 'white subject matter' (wsm) which can be the beginning of fungal nails. Using my portable nail drill I removed the WSM and advised the client to apply anti fungal daily to prevent the fungal nail from spreading.

I applied a foot cream for dry feet and she felt much happier with how her feet and nails looked.

Please get in touch if you have a similar issue either for treatment or advice.

A new client made contact for an appointment as he was struggling to cut his big toenails, he also had some dry skin.

The client was having some discomfort when wearing shoes.

I visited and was able to cut his toenails to a better length. You can see from the photo's that the nail curving in was pushing into the skin surrounding the nail. Now the nail has been cut this will ease the discomfort.

The dry skin was removed using a paddle file and cream applied.

If you have a similar problem please do get in touch. 👣😊

*warning pictures of feet*

A new client made contact as she was struggling to cut her own nails due to their thickness, which was causing pain when wearing shoes.

I observed the client to have thickened nails as well as a few showing characteristics of onychogryphotic nails, also known as Rams horn nails.

Using a nail drill I reduced the thickness, cut and filed down. One of her nails showed signs of trauma in the nail bed which can cause nails to become brittle and split.

We finished off by applying foot cream that is excellent for dry skin.

The process of growing out a damaged nail can take some time and cannot be fixed with one appointment, therefore I will be visiting the client every 4 weeks for maintenance 👣

Update on a client following treatment in December.

The nails had suffered some trauma which can still be seen on one nail, this was due to gel nails being removed incorrectly. However since removing the majority of detached nail in December, my client is pleased with the results as healthy new nail is growing and will hopefully be ready for her summer shoes 🥰👣

Thickened nails and corns

Client presented with thickened nails, hard skin and corns. The nails were yellow in colour and difficult to cut due to the thickness.

The lovely client has rheumatoid arthritis and this can
cause nail changes like ridging, yellowing, thickening, and splinter hemorrhages.

Using a drill, I reduced the thickness and was able to cut them. This also took away the discolouration which made the client very happy.

The corns - not pictured, were removed using a sterile scalpel.

The client was extremely happy with the results and will be having regular maintenance 👣

Dry Skin

Build up of dry skin can be uncomfortable and embarrassing, especially to those who like to wear open toe shoes or flip flops.

Using a paddle file daily can prevent a build up of dry skin, following this with a bit of foot cream will keep your feet feeling nice, soft and fresh.

I always recommend CCS footcream as it can help treat dry skin.

Callus (hard skin) & fungal nail

Client presented with, dry feet, callus and potential fungal nail. Toenails were trimmed and the infected nail was thinned out using a drill. Taking any thickness away will help treatment pe*****te the nail where the infection ultimately lives.

Callus was parred away and dry skin paddle filed.
It's important to remember callus is created when there is friction, so using a file will only create more callus, hence why I use a sterile scalpel to remove.

Lamisil was applied to clients nail to begin fungal treatment, followed by education around foot care, foot wear and how to treat at home.

Verrucas can be painful, unappealing and are contagious.

I recently met a new client who has suffered with Verrucas for many years. She wants to get her feet ready for the summer as she is very self conscious about them.

One of the Verrucas grows on top of her toe so can be seen when wearing opened toe footwear.

I started off by cleaning the area and using a scalpel to par away the growth to be able to begin treatment with a medicament containing salicylic acid.
Education around daily filing to remove the hard top layer so the medicament can pe*****te the Verruca.

This client will have ongoing appointments to treat and maintain her feet.

* Warning - pictures of feet/toenails*

A new client made contact stating their big toenails had some discolouration.
Upon initial observations I was able to see a condition called Onycholysis.

Onycholysis is when your nail separates from its nail bed. It often appears after an injury to your nail, but it may have other causes, including fungi. Treatment may only involve cutting away the separated nail as it grows out, or you may need to take antifungal medications.

After a nail separates from the nail bed for whatever reason, it will not reattach, it is best to remove the unhealthy nail. A new nail will have to grow back in its place. Nails can grow back slowly.

In this case, my clients nails had already started to grow back healthy. I removed the separated nail and made sure the area was nice and clean. I also cut and filed her other nails, removed her dry skin, finishing with some gorgeous smelling foot cream.

To some it may not be aesthetically pleasing but to my client she was over the moon with the outcome. We will be monitoring her feet to ensure they continue to grow back healthy.

Please do get in touch if you have any similar issues.

I had the pleasure of meeting a new client who is 14 years old, whom suffers with ingrown toenails.

Every time her nails were cut they would get sore, red, and have inflammation, which are all signs of infection.

To treat the ingrown toenails I did a partial nail resection (PNR), where I cut back part of the toenail, to remove the ingrown section. Often this gives instant relief for the client!

I am so pleased to hear that since the PNR, the young lady hasn't got any pain, pressure and no signs of infection.

Please do get in touch if you have a similar issue 👣😊

* Warning pictures of feet*

This gentleman has gone a long time without cutting his toenails. This is because he hates his feet being touched, even by himself.

After having a chat on the phone about his worries, he requested an appointment.

I managed to give his nails a nice cut and he was happier with how his feet looked and felt.

Advice around foot care and hygiene given. Will see him again in 5 weeks for maintenance 👣

*Warning pictures of feet*

Met a lovely lady today who suffers terribly with areas of hard thickened callus (hard skin) and corns, making it painful for her when walking!

Thankfully I was able to help her out by removing both callus and the corns, followed by some offloading with swann padding, giving her comfort and no more pain when walking.

Education and advice on footwear and foot care was provided to prevent callus and corns from getting worse. I will be visiting the lovely lady again in 4 weeks for further treatment and maintenance.

Please get in touch for any foot health related queries 👣👣
