🥘👨‍🍳Our new menu is just almost ready so Hospitality Manager Colin held a menu sampling session in the coffee shop this week in order to gain valuable feedback from the residents. External Communications Manager Theresa Knight came along to snap photos of Colin in action, chat with the diners and of course to taste the dishes herself.

Well done to Colin and the Catering Team for a successful - and delicious- afternoon; and thank you to Mick-e, Brenda & Sophie for stepping in as waitresses 🍽️

🕺👗We went back to the 50s at Anjulita Court and enjoyed a day of music, reminiscence, dancing, quiz questions and of course themed outfits- with some quoits thrown in for good measure. Colin and Mick-e treated residents to a 50s diner style lunch of burgers and hotdogs which was enjoyed by all. 🌭 🍔
A huge thank you to all involved

Today we had lots of smiles and laughter within rooms and the mill lounge.

From a fun but competitive horse racing game in the mill lounge and to finish the game with some fury hugs from our newly hatched ducklings. 🦆🥚🐎🏇✨

“Eid al-Fit is the celebration that marks the end of Ramadan. It is one of the most important celebrations in the Muslim calendar and is often described as a joyful festival of thanks and togetherness. It comes after a month of fasting and reflection, so it is a day of happiness, gratitude, and community.”

Thank you to activity coordinators Natasha & Mick-e and to volunteer Brenda for a beautiful and informative event

What a wonderful week. From card making and stained glass window artwork. 🖼️✨

A dog visit from Katie’s dog Lochan 🐶.

And a great way to end the week with some card bingo with a cheeky glass of lemonade and a biscuit or two 🍪🫗

Hope you everyone has had a lovely Mother’s Day. Was lovely to see so many of you visitors and stopping for a lovely chat with some of you and your mothers ☺️🫂

We’re proud to be part of MHA, which has once again been recognised as one of the Top 20 Large Care Home Groups in the UK by carehome.co.uk – for the ninth year in a row!

This recognition is based on feedback from residents and their families, which makes it especially meaningful.

A big well done to colleagues across MHA for the kindness, dedication and care they show every day. We’re proud to be part of it. 💛

Happy march everybody. 🌼🌷Starting this month with “all things bright and beautiful.” Flower pot decorating and wooden flowers being decorated. ✨

With the flower pots they were decorated with stickers, gems and acrylic paint with a lot of smiles and laughter. ☺️🌼

The wooden flowers were decorated with acrylic paint, stickers and gems with happiness. 💐🪻

Was nice to see some visitors taking part during this activity 🙂.

We all enjoyed listening to some spring music and having a sing a long. 🎶

Thank you to the person who donatated these flower pots; it’s much appreciated 😁✨

(You can see some of the pots and flowers in residents rooms or on a table at the coffee shop)

Activity Coordinator Mick-e held a Lunar New Years event (otherwise known as Chinese New Year or the Spring Festival) with decorations, music and themed buffet food to sample.
A/Cs Sophie and Natasha, along with Volunteer Brenda and Mick-es daughter Azaya helped to bring the event together by wearing traditional dress and taking turns reading facts about the day.
Earlier in the week Sophie held a seasonal reminiscence which included a “chopsticks challenge” and timed pancake flip which A/C Katie kindly participated in, we didn’t beat the world record of 140 flips in a minute but had fun trying.

About Us

Anjulita Court is a purpose built care home on the outskirts of Bedford and opened in 2009.

The impressive building has a dramatic triple arch frontage to welcome residents and visitors into an interior full of open spaces. Our facilities include a hydrotherapy room, coffee shop, hairdressing salon, beautiful gardens and a range of lounges – one of which is set up to allow film screenings.

Award winning music therapy We're committed to providing alternative therapies such as music therapy to help alleviate isolation and the symptoms for those living with dementia. Our music therapist is funded by charitable donations.

They send several days each week at the home and interact directly with residents through live music therapy sessions. This includes singing, playing simple percussion instruments or responding to musical cues in a one-to-one or group setting. Take a look at our video to find out more about this life changing therapy.
