5 Things I’ve Learned as a Yoga Teacher 🪷
For all the yogis and yoginis out there 🌍

I've had the pleasure of practicing and teaching yoga for many years. Thank you to the Universe, it's divine timing & my own teachers dedication and wisdom for the intro!

I've learned so much, both on and off the mat and that's what I hope to share as a teacher; my small way of paying it forward.

This week after a long chat with a cherished yogini, I've been reflecting on my top 5 Things I’ve Learned as a Yoga Teacher (And stuff I'm still learning every day…)

1. Every body is different.
No pose/shape/asana looks the same on everyone. (Despite what you might see on Instagram) We are not the same, so we should celebrate our differences!

2. It’s not about how you look. It's about how you feel.
What can you sense? Where have you clenched? Where are you holding tension? What are you holding onto and is it doing you any good? Learning to notice how you feel is the real gift of yoga. NOT looking good in tight yoga pants 🙄

3. Yoga starts and ends with your breath.
(Hint: it's also the bit inbetween!)
It grounds, calms, and carries us—on and off the mat. The breath is the bridge that connects body and mind. So:

Less is more. Don't force it. Slower flows. Deeper connection. Pay attention.

4. Teaching yoga is about leaving people in a better state than the one you found them in.
That's it, really.

5. Never skip relaxation.
The end of each class is where we discover the most challenging pose of all - laying or sitting in stillness. 🌟 This is where the magic happens - in the stillness, silence and space. That's where the true meaning of yoga reveals itself 🪷

Digestive discomfort .....Did you know? 💡

Bile Reflux is MORE common after you've had your gallbladder removed 😔

There are some key differences between bile reflux and acid reflux but BOTH can cause similar symptoms such as bloating, pain, nausea, problems tolerating & digesting fats and much more! 😣

Acid reflux involves stomach acid flowing into the oesophagus, whereas bile reflux is the backflow of bile from the small intestine into the stomach and oesophagus.
