Today we hosted our Macmillan Coffee Morning! ☕️💚 Macmillan Cancer Support

Thank you to all who joined us, it was a delight to welcome in some of our community (and some furry friends 🐾) for some cake and coffee whilst supporting an amazing charity.

We have so far raised £175.38 combining our online & offline donations!

And with HUGE thanks to Graham and Ruby, who contributed to baking nearly our entire spread! 🍰

Forget Me Not 🌸 our second Bereavement Support Group is starting in just under 3 weeks time!

Open to anyone and free of charge, this group is home to a chatty and informal environment to encourage members of our community who may be struggling with grief to come along and connect with others.

📖 Reading between the lines of our grief and understanding how it makes us feel can be a daunting step to take as we navigate our way through grief.

So here’s what we’re doing to make it that little bit easier.

We are launching a small campaign ‘Reading Between The Lines’ in collaboration with our lovely bereavement counsellor Anne-Marie Connect Counselling. As she recommends resources that might be able to support those who struggle to dig deeper and understand how to cope with grief.

Whether that’s a book, podcast or a journal 📖🎧we’ll be uploading a new resource suggestion each month 🗓️

These recommendations may also be able to help those who are supporting a loved one or a friend, helping them to navigate what goes beyond the surface.

Ever wondered who brings all of our bereavement support groups together? 🧐

Introducing our lovely bereavement counsellor, Anne-Marie (MBACP) Connect Counselling

We have been working with Anne-Marie for almost 2 years on reducing the taboo of talking about the topic of death and grief. Our priority for these groups is to create a safe space that brings our small community together and to encourage this, we have set up two bereavement support groups, both free of charge and accessible to all.

We are delighted with the responses from those who have participated in these groups, as being there for our community, or whoever should need us, is at the heart of what we do.
And we are excited to be progressing with our 6th cohort starting in the Autumn (with more dates to follow!)

Our Bereavement Support Groups are back with new availability ready for the Autumn! 🍁 FREE of charge.

This group requires registration with a maximum of 5 spaces available. The same participants return every fortnight for 6 sessions with our lovely bereavement counsellor Anne-Marie. (Connect Counselling)

If you would like to participate or know of someone trying to navigate through their own bereavement journey, these groups are designed to create a safe space bringing people together through shared experiences with grief.

And just like that, Dennis has completed his challenge!! 🎉

After almost 2 months of continuous cycling, Dennis returned home a couple of days ago having cycled from London ➡️ Barcelona, and back again.

A valued member of our community and all of us at Abbotts are incredibly proud sponsors of Dennis Fundraising, raising money for Friends of CME Trust.

Well done Dennis! 🚲

Dennis Tailor is raising funds for by doing a challenge of 2,400 miles cycle ride in June from London to Barcelona and back.

A L & G Abbott invite you to join us on Friday 26th September for a small charity event in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support 💚

We want to support Macmillan in raising awareness and donations for those battling with cancer across the UK. We are delighted to be taking part by hosting our own coffee morning to support the vital care and services that Macmillan provide for those facing their own journey, as well as those supporting someone with cancer.
