IN LOVING MEMORY
It is with deep sorrow that we acknowledge the passing of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.
A reassuring constant throughout our lives, dedicated to the service of our country and the Commonwealth, always serving with humility, grace and a warm smile.
We will treasure her life of service and devotion.
Our thoughts are with the Royal Family at this very sad time as we all come together to pay tribute and remember her exceptional life.
We offer our deepest condolences to the Royal Family at this time.

Many congratulations to Graham who has been with us for 40 Years! His dedication to his work is second to none and many local families have benefited from his knowledge and expertise over the years. He also works so hard to make A L & G Abbott look beautiful all year round. The place wouldn't be the same without you Graham.

Marking one year since the first Coronavirus lockdown was announced, today we pause to remember those we have lost and all those who are grieving. We also would like to thank everyone who has supported the Nation during this time and particularly all of our staff here at Abbotts who have worked tirelessly through some very tough times, supporting each other and all of the families that have needed us. We will be lighting a candle tonight and remembering.

We have lost a true inspiration and a hero. Sending our condolences to the family and friends of Captain Sir Tom Moore.

This year the theme for Holocaust Memorial Day is 'Be the light in the darkness'. This encompasses the depths humanity can sink to but also the strength of individuals and communities who have resisted that darkness and are the light before, during and after genocide.
Tonight online at 7pm there will be a UK Holocaust Memorial Day ceremony followed by the lighting of candles all over the country from 8pm and safely placing them in windows to remember those lost and stand against prejudice and hatred today.

This week is National Grief Awareness Week which aims to try to normalise grief and get people talking about this typically uncomfortable subject. Each day concentrates on a different area for discussion and today is the day to think about the people we have lost to COVID. For anyone who needs support take a look at the nationalgriefawarenessweek.org website which will help to direct you towards the events and some good resources. We also offer a Bereavement Listening service for our families so please get in touch.

We are so happy to support the work of Project 229 who provide an invaluable service to our local community. They are our chosen charity for the next year and we are looking forward to learning all about their work, particularly SPACE which is a service for young people who have experienced one adult hurting another adult in their home. For more information have a look at the Project 229 page.

This year Abbotts have chosen the Bedford Foodbank as our Christmas charity. The work they do is so vital to our community and this year has definitely taught us how important it is to be there for each other.
The Foodbanks remain open as they are classed as an essential service.
The foodbanks will be open during their usual day, time and location. Any temporary closures will be announced on the Website and Social Media;
https://bedford.foodbank.org.uk
To use the services you do need to be referred but it is a straight forward process.
If you require help please call 0808 2082138 to speak to the National Citizens Advice Bureau who may be able to issue you with a food bank voucher if necessary.
Please visit the website for more information.
