Bloom & Care is Bedford’s leading independent home care provider, proudly rated Outstanding by the CQC. We’re a warm, nurse-led, family-run team delivering compassionate care in people’s own homes.

We’re looking for a kind, reliable Care Assistant to join our supportive team.

Shifts available:

•⁠ ⁠Mornings (07:00–14:00)
•⁠ ⁠Tea calls (16:00–18:00)
•⁠ ⁠Evenings (16:00–22:00)
•⁠ ⁠One weekend per month

What we offer:

•⁠ ⁠Guaranteed hours (no zero-hour contracts)
•⁠ ⁠Paid travel time plus mileage
•⁠ ⁠Regular clients and continuity of care
•⁠ ⁠Full training and ongoing support

Requirements:

•⁠ ⁠Full UK driving licence and own car
•⁠ ⁠Live in or near Bedford
•⁠ ⁠Female applicants only (Equality Act 2010)

Unpopular opinion:
Home care isn’t just washing, dressing, medication and cleaning.

It’s reassurance at 7am when someone wakes up anxious.
It’s helping someone feel like themselves again after a difficult night.
It’s noticing the small changes that families worry they’ll miss.
It’s shared stories, laughter, familiar routines, and the feeling of being truly seen.

This is the side of care most people never get to witness.
But it’s the part that matters most.
