Happy World Kindness Day!

Dementia Friends know all about acts of kindness – the aim of our movement is to encourage people to take actions, both big and small, to help improve the lives of those living with and affected by dementia.

All these actions can help a person with dementia feel happier, more independent and more supported.

Here’s a few ideas to get you started this World Kindness Day:

☕️ Visit a loved one living with dementia: have a cup of tea and a chat, watch their favourite film or look through photo albums
📞 Phone someone you know who is a carer: check in with them, ask if you can help with anything
🛒 Do some shopping: popping to the shops yourself? See if any neighbours who can’t get to the shops themselves might need anything
💌 Write a letter or send a card: let someone know you’re thinking of them, help bring a smile to their face
💞 Encourage others to become Dementia Friends: help others learn why it’s crucial we create a climate of kindness and understanding, so that everyone affected by dementia feels part of, not apart from, society.
