On Thursday 26th February, Forever Health Studios, in Kempston, Bedford welcomed members for an insightful and empowering Nutrition Talk led by our Health Director, Grant Mohle.

The key message was that exercise is only one piece of the health puzzle, as nutrition is equally important to fuel your body 🥦🥜

Grant shared valuable guidance on the fundamentals of good nutrition, breaking down the importance of:

🥩 Protein for muscle repair and maintenance
🥑 Healthy fats for hormone balance and sustained energy
⏱ The benefits of fasting when done correctly
🍞 The difference between simple and complex carbohydrates
🍓 Which fruits are more supportive of your goals & when best to eat them
🍬 The hidden sugar content in processed foods (and even milk!)

One of the most important takeaways was around weight loss and fuelling your body properly. A common mistake when trying to lose weight is drastically cutting calories while increasing exercise, and Grant explained how this can actually lead to muscle loss by slowing metabolism and making long-term progress harder.

Instead, he highlighted the importance of eating enough quality calories to preserve muscle mass while training, because strong, lean muscle is key to sustainable results 💪

It was an eye-opening session filled with practical advice our members can start applying straight away 😊

Our Abdominal Crunch machine supports better spine stability, reduces neck strain, and helps teach better core engagement. It also reduces pressure on your lower back compared to crunches. You just follow the simple animation (or EGYM Curve) to keep you in time, and performing the movements correctly and at the correct speed.
