That is why we go that extra mile to ensure that we have an great range of frames and lenses to suit everyone's taste and budget. Our complete spectacles start from only £40 inclusive of single vision lenses. As independent opticians we can supply most lens brands such as Essilor and Zeiss and we have just introduced the Nikon portfolio of lenses, varifocal and occupational lenses that are high definition. Other lens options include Transitions, Polarised, Anti fatigue and thinner, lighter lenses. Here at ideal eyewear we will listen to your individual needs, and provide advice on the best lens for your lifestyle and your budget. We are also happy to put new lenses into your own frame. We also carry out spectacle repairs to all types of glasses and frames. Please call the practice for details. Although we provide fully comprehensive eye tests we appreciate that some people already have their optical prescription but are looking for better value and choice when they purchase their new glasses. We know that we can provide you with that value and choice, so we are delighted to accept all other opticians prescriptions. We fully guarantee the frames and lenses in all of the spectacles that we dispense, giving you maximum peace of mind.

👀 National Eye Health Week – Day Three: Eyes at Work Whether you're behind a desk, on the road, or working with your hands, your eyes are working hard too.

Did you know? The average UK adult spends over 35 hours a week staring at screens. That’s a lot of strain on your eyes—and it can lead to screen fatigue, blurred vision, headaches, and dry eyes.
To help prevent this
Follow the 20-20-20 Rule: Every 20 minutes, look 20 feet away for 20 seconds.
Adjust your lighting: Reduce glare and ensure your workspace is well-lit.
Blink often: It sounds simple, but blinking keeps your eyes moist and comfortable.
Take regular breaks: Step away from screens and give your eyes a rest.
Book your sight test: Regular eye exams help catch issues early and keep your vision sharp.

👀✨This week is National Eye Health Week and today we’re shining a light on children’s eye health.
There are lots of simple things you can do to keep childrens eyes healthy.

🧃🥦 Healthy eyes start with a healthy lifestyle: ✔️ Eat a rainbow of colourful fruits & veggies ✔️ Play outdoors ✔️ Book regular eye tests.

📱💤 Try a Screen Amnesty every evening—encourage your children to put down their devices and give their eyes a well-earned rest before bed.

Eye tests ensure that childhood conditions such as squint, lazy eye or shortsigtedness are picked up early and the sooner problems are identified the better the treatment outcome.
It is surprising that many parent do not know that sight tests are NHS funded for all children under 16 and if glasses are required children are entitled to an optical voucher that can be used to purchase eyewear.

Let’s help our children see better for longer. 💙

Holiday time for me .. I am going to take a small break ,so this week the lovely Jo and Elaine will be in practice to help out. Because they are coming in from Northampton the hours this week will be a little different so we will be opening up at 10:00 am and closing at 4:30 pm.
We can do all collections minor repairs and dispensing but as there will be no clinics this week if you have any eye emergencies please contact Cues on 0800 316 9200.
On contacting the service, the call handler will register your details, check eligibility, promptly arrange a phone call with a qualified optometrist who will triage you and give appropriate advice.

As Elaine is a retired optician she cannot see children but if required we can book an appointment with me on my return to work on 16th September.

On my return look out for the return of 3 pairs of complete single vision glasses for £99 promotion .

Did you know we can recycle your old glasses & spectacle cases as well as contact lenses and contact lens packaging?

Better in our boxes than in landfill!! and it also benefits charities.

We are also collecting used postage stamps on behalf of the Silsoe Beavers which will benefit the RNIB.

So go on have a clearout and come along as your old used eyewear is better in our boxes than in landfill !!
