One of my favourite ways to start the day - chia oatmeal with dark chocolate, raspberries and pumpkin seeds. Especially nice to warm you up on cold winter mornings!
Slow release carbs, fibre, protein, healthy fats. Plus it tastes more like dessert than breakfast πŸ˜‹

Working on yourself is sometimes the hardest thing to do.
We make time to help others, support our clients and focus on our family and friends, and these are all important things. However, we can only help those people within our own capabilities and limitations.
Do you want to have more energy, more focus and more confidence to be there for all the people that come into your life?
Make the space to prioritise yourself, so that you can become the best version of you.
If you are serious about improving your health, and are ready to put in the work, message me to find out more about my new program, Accelerate, starting in January.
I am looking to work with a small group of women who are ready for a new start, and willing to prioritise their health and wellness in 2023 πŸ’ͺ

Common mistakes that sabotage your goals - Part 12
Not doing it for yourself
Any goals that you are working towards right now should be for YOU!
I don't mean that you should be selfish and that everything in your life should be all about you. Your personal health and wellness goals should be ones that are to improve yourself, for you and not for someone else.
You deserve to be healthy and happy, to live life in a body that you respect and which in return, operates to the best of its potential.
If you are only trying to change yourself to please or appease others, then your motivation will always be dependent on the opinions and responses of those around you.
When you start to see results that you are happy with, when you start to feel healthier, more rested, more energised, then your motivation only increases.
Taking care of yourself means you will have greater capacity to be there for others. Self care isn't selfish, it's necessary to become an optimally functioning human being.

Common mistakes that sabotage your goals - Part 9
Not tracking your progress
It's easy to miss the progress you've made if you aren't tracking it! Making progress is what helps continue to motivate us to keep going.
Make a record at the start of your journey of where you are, how you feel, take measurements or record your weight where necessary, take photos etc. Whatever is going to be relevant to your goals.
Progress can be measured in many ways! One problem with "weight loss" in particular, is that A - what you actually want is to lose fat, build lean muscle and to look "toned", and B - the numbers on the scales don't give you an overall picture, plus your weight fluctuates on a daily basis. Take measurements, take photos, try on the same clothes to see how they fit, pay attention to your energy levels and how you feel!
- Set specific goals that you can measure
- Track your progress in a range of ways
- Be consistent!

35yrs young today!
My body and brain have been through a lot the past 15 years - having 4 kids is challenging both mentally and physically.
Like a lot of people, I gained weight during the lockdowns, due to not being able to get out as much, finding it hard to stick to a routine and increased stress with all being home.
In January this year I made a point of really focusing on my health to get back to a good place, both mentally and physically.
In 6 months I've not only lost 15lbs, but reduced my body fat percentage, increased lean muscle mass, gained strength, have more energy and I feel more confident and more happy. 😊
This was by creating a plan and sticking to it:
- good nutrition
(some periods of being in a calorie deficit, some at maintenance)
- regular exercise
(walking and strength training)
- quality sleep
- keeping hydrated
The key thing is CONSISTENCY!
Now I'm off to enjoy my birthday, but if you'd like help creating a Nutrition and Lifestyle plan, please get in touch to see how I can help you 😊 🌟

Common mistakes that sabotage your goals - Part 8
Comparing yourself to others
We all do it - look at others around us and compare. Sometimes this can help to motivate us, but a lot of the time it can be unhelpful.
The truth is, we are all unique individuals, with different ages, sizes, builds, journeys, goals...
No one's story will be the same as yours, so focus on your own path. Yes, we can learn from each other, m take inspiration and help one another, but don't let comparison discourage you from making progress.
If you want help creating an action plan fully tailored to YOU, YOUR goals and YOUR body's needs, then message me to see how I can help πŸ™‚

Common mistakes that sabotage your goals - Part 7
Trying too hard
You've set your goals, you're motivated and you know that with commitment and hard work you can get there. However, it's tempting to think that more work will equal quicker results, and so we overdo it.
Yes, we need to put in the work, and sometimes reaching our goals may be hard, but if our methods are unsustainable, we will either give up before we finish, or end up hurting ourselves.
Not eating enough may lead to binge eating. Training too hard may result in injury.
You need a balanced and sustainable plan, which you can stick to, and not try to fast track.
Get in touch if you would like help to create a long term, achievable plan in order to reach your goals 🌟

Common mistakes that sabotage your goals - Part 4
Doing it alone
It will always be easier to reach your goals with others standing alongside you, cheering you on or walking the same walk with you.
When you struggle alone on your own, doubts and excuses pop up, self motivation is hard work, and there is no one to keep you accountable!
Share you goals with those who you trust who will cheer you on. Find an exercise buddy so you can keep each other motivated. Work with a coach who will be checking in on a regular basis to see how you are getting on (that's me 😁)
If you've been struggling to get started or you have found it hard to keep going, drop me a message to see how I could help you on your wellness journey 🌟

With the mini heatwave here this week, why not make these refreshing Watermelon lollies for the kids (and big kids!)
Simply slice up some Watermelon πŸ‰, insert some lolly sticks and then drizzle over some melted chocolate 🍫 and add some toppings. Here I have used some strawberry heartsπŸ“, mango stars ⭐, edible violas 🌸 and a sprinkling of h**p seeds.
Let the kids help decorate them for a fun after school activity!
