We're looking for caring, patient and adaptable community care workers to provide practical & emotional support to adults within their own homes, in and around Bedfordshire!

Our services users are adults with a range of physical and mental health conditions and you'll make a huge difference to someone's daily life by aiding them in basic duties, including:

✔️Accompanying them to appointments, jobs, gym etc.
✔️Helping them with shopping
✔️Assisting them with personal care & household tasks e.g. helping with meds, preparing meals
✔️Encouraging service users to engage in their hobbies

Full UK Valid Driving Licence preferrable!

Our service users and carers always enjoy a cuppa together within the comfort of the service user's own home, on little trips out to their favourite coffee shop or even amongst the staff in the BSH/FHHC office...It's a great opportunity to build a bond, set a foundation of trust and openness & relieve any tension & stress! It's a lovely way to add a special touch to your day!

Halloween can be a pretty stressful time for those with Dementia...it can be quite confusing & scary, seeing spooky masks, frequent doorbell ringing & gory decor, for those who have forgotten what time of year it is! Here are some tips to keep adults with Dementia safe this Halloween 🎃:

✅ Keep decor at a minimum. Change of environment can cause anxiety.
✅ Avoid voice-activated props - Some have been known to freak out due to thinking they're hearing voices.
✅ Leave sweets outside saying 'please take one' or a sign saying 'please don't knock'
✅ Avoid channels with horror movies - set Parental control on the TV if these movies cause distress
✅ Pumpkin carving, baking, Halloween drawing/painting, or origami may be enjoyable activities for those wanting to get involved
✅ Keep an eye out on signs of agitation when around Halloween displays out in public
✅ Be patient when explaining Halloween to a loved one who may be asking questions about it
