Yoga isn't always kind to your coping mechanisms.
No phone.
No scrolling.
No β€œI’m fine” small talk.
Just you, your breath, your shaking muscles, and the habits that usually stay hidden under noise.
That’s why practice can feel confronting.
It puts you in a room with yourself and quietly asks, β€œWithout all the distractions, who are you really… and how are you actually living?”
You don’t go to the mat to impress anyone.
You go to see clearly enough to stop running the same patterns on repeat.

We explored some reflective and introspective practices to help us though our own personal 'winters' which can occur at any time of year.

We also did some serious napping (some unscheduled) during our deeply restorative Yoga Nidra!

✍️ Today is going to be our peaceful day. This is the beginningβ€”a fresh start, a new opportunity to live with awareness and care.

May we be mindful of our breath as it flows in and out, anchoring us to this present moment. May we be mindful of our daily actions, bringing intention and gentleness to everything we doβ€”the words we speak, the way we listen, the kindness we offer, even in the smallest gestures.

May peace shine brightly in our hearts, and from that inner light, may compassion flow naturally to those who are struggling. May loving-kindness soften our responses and warm our connections. May unity remind us that we are all walking this path together, bound by our shared longing for a more peaceful world.

Let us walk together in spirit todayβ€”wherever you are, whatever you’re doing. With each mindful breath you take, with each compassionate choice you make, you are helping peace bloom more beautifully in this world.

Join us for a blissful day of self care, reflection and nourishment for the mind and body at Moreteyne Manor where we will be holding a Winter Yoga Day.

The 16th century Tudor manor house, with its oak beamed rooms and understated elegance provide the perfect serene environment to allow the day to softly unfold.

Gentle yoga practice, mindfulness & meditation, thought provoking discussion and a deeply cossetting yoga Nidra and hot chocolate to end the day, sending you off relaxed and renewed and ready to face the long days left in January.

The day starts at 10am and ends at 4pm. Cost is Β£60 and this includes a 2 course lunch and refreshments.

You don't need to have a regular yoga practice to benefit and enjoy this event, but you do need to be able to lay on a mat and be able to get up and down safely.

By adapting traditional poses to a seated or chair-supported position, this practice is perfect for those with limited mobility, recovering from injury, or simply looking for a more gentle way to move. Through soothing yet effective stretches, mindful breathing, and easy-to-follow movements, chair yoga helps improve flexibility, strength, posture, and relaxation.

You’ll explore calming twists, side bends, light balance work with the chair for support, and simple strengthening exercises, all guided by deep breathing and mindful awareness. Whether you’re retired, an office worker, or someone seeking a low-impact, nurturing practice, chair yoga invites you to slow down, move with ease, and feel good in your body.

We have a very friendly and welcoming group here in Marston and always manage a few laughs in every session!
