Fullers Earth Holistic Therapies

Fullers Earth Holistic Therapies For the improvement of Body, Mind and Spirit for you and your family. Reiki can bring you relaxatio The first Reiki session starts with a consultation.

Reiki means universal life force energy, it was re-discovered by Dr Mikao Usui in Japan in the early 1900's. Reiki deals not only with evident pain but with the cause of pain, it is an holistic therapy, treating mind, body and spirit. During a treatment, Reiki will accelerate and enhance the bodies own natural ability to heal itself. This can result in improved metabolisim, detoxification, relaxation, decreased anxiety and soothing of pain commonly experienced with physical and emotional conditions. There are no contra-indications with Reiki, this means that Reiki can never do harm and you cannot over treat a person or animal. I have been a Reiki Practitioner since July 2000, in October 2001 I was attuned to Level II and in June of 2015 I became a Reiki Master Teacher. I have developed my practice over these last 20 years and offer a calming, relaxed, intuitive, professional approach. I have experience treating many people including pregnant ladies, children, babies, elderly, people undergoing treament for cancer as well as providing End of Life care. I am also able to offer Reiki to pets and other animals, for example horses. A full Reiki treatment follows where the client remains fully clothed, and wrapped in a blanket, if desired. Once balance is restored and a sense of wellness is achieved, a maintenance program may be recommended, perhaps receiving Reiki every two to three months, if required. As a Reiki Master Teacher I am able to carry out attunements (teaching Reiki), if required. I run several classes throughout the year. But if you are unable to see one convenient for you then please get in touch. If you would like to chat with me about Reiki please do get in touch. Even if we chat over coffee & cake…. it’s always a good time to talk Reiki… and eat cake! Reiki can be offered in, 30 minute, 45 minute or 1 hour sessions. A discount applies if you book, and commit, to three sessions over a 6 week period. Please see our Services page for prices. We also offer Chakra Balancing, Wellbeing Coaching and Reiki for pets. We have several products that can help you continue and enhance your wellbeing at home. Please see the 'Services' page for more information. Hopefully, you’ve liked what you’ve read and now, I’ve either made you want coffee & cake, or perhaps you want to try some Reiki or even lounge about on an acupressure mat – either way, get in touch and let’s see what we can do for you.

Forest or beach walks are my favourite and I always, always feel recharged, invigorated and healed afterwards. What about you? What, or where, is
your grounding, healing zone?

Staying in a hug, breathing and being present is so calming and nurturing.

You have to really hug the [one] you are holding. You have to make him or her very real in your arms.. breathing consciously and hugging with all your body, spirit, and heart. Hugging meditation is a practice of mindfulness. “Breathing in, I know my dear one is in my arms, alive. Breathing out, he or she is so precious to me.” If you breathe deeply like that, holding the person you love, the energy of your care and appreciation will pe*****te into [them] and they will be nourished and bloom like a flower.

Who's joining me in switching off all non-critical electronics tonight, picking up the books or board games, or maybe meditating with candle light at 8.30pm tonight for 🌍 💜

I'll be taking the time thinking of, and sending Reiki to, those impacted in and around Ukraine 🇺🇦

I don't know about you, but gardening is another tool I use to build up resilience. It's great for mental, physical and spiritual health.

My son was 4 years old and he was in a soccer class once a week. He loved it. And hated it. And found it exciting. And frustrating. All the feels.

One morning his buttons had been pushed too many times by another little boy in the class. My little guy couldn't hold it together any longer and ran to me on the sidelines in floods of tears. Wrapped in my arms he couldn't hear anything other than me whispering words of reassurance to let the tears out.

But I could hear the man behind us. He was a grandpa to one of the little boys in the class and I'll never forget his words, "What is that noise? Boys don't make that noise."

It was very unlike me, but I didn't even bother to turn and give him a stare to make him think twice next time. My little boy needed me and there was no way I'd divert my attentions, no way I'd stop the tears. No way I'd communicate to him that there was anything wrong with expressing his emotions. Not a chance.

When I heard the older man's comment, for a moment I thought he must be joking. My perspective has shifted so much on this gentle parenting journey that sometimes I think, surely people don't think that way anymore. Sadly they do.

And whether we like it or not, the world will communicate this to our boys. And so as parents to boys, we need to make our families SO accepting of all emotions that they'll think the world has it wrong, that they're joking. We need to normalise the vulnerability of our boys so that they grow into emotionally healthy, soft, nurturing, caring grown men one day.

And we need to surround ourselves by a village that holds the space for boys...to be boys...which is to be fully human, to feel and accept all feelings.

The older man behind me that day was full of fear. He was scared of his own emotions and he wanted my son to join him in that dark space. So I will shine the light. I’ll follow my son even and especially when I’m scared too and walk beside him because the darkness isn’t so scary when someone holds your hand.

Some interesting facts about CRYING:⠀⠀
⠀⠀
• From an evolutionary point of view, showing vulnerability has been beneficial for humans because we are such intensely social animals.⠀⠀
⠀⠀
• Crying is a way of asking other humans for help, or showing empathy for someone who needs help.⠀⠀
⠀⠀
• Most mammal offspring will make distress calls if separated from their carers, however humans are the only species who shed emotional tears. Tears on a highly visible part of the body, i.e. the face, are a way of signalling we need help without necessarily making noise that might attract predators.⠀⠀
⠀⠀
• The tears you shed when you're crying because of emotions have a different make-up to tears shed when there's something in your eye or you're chopping onions. Emotional tears contain more of certain hormones, including adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), which tells the body to release the stress hormone, cortisol. So crying emotional tears may release a build up of stress hormones.⠀⠀
⠀⠀
• If stress hormones are not expelled from the body, it can result in heart palpitations, hyperventilation, and even panic attacks. So, having a good cry can actually be very helpful.
⠀⠀
• Other ways to soothe stress include physical contact, exercising, journaling, deep breathing, mindfulness, and talking to someone.⠀⠀
⠀⠀
• For babies, physical contact is the number one way of decreasing their stress levels. Crying is their signal to their carers that they are distressed as they don't have the ability to soothe themselves from a state of distress.⠀⠀
⠀⠀
• Finally, the need to cry does not discriminate against gender. It is only our society that does.⠀⠀
